Hi I'm Chris Murray and I'm going to tell you how long a soccer goalie can hold a ball.
In soccer there are many rules that you might not know about. For instance one rule that
you might not know about is how long a soccer goalie can hold the ball. If a goalkeeper
makes the save, he can only - he can only hold the ball for six seconds. By him only
- him or her only being able to hold the ball for six seconds, this allows for that
team not to be able to waste time. If a team is up one or two nothing at the end of a game,
and a goalkeeper makes a save, it would be preferable if the goalkeeper could hold the
ball for longer than six seconds to waste as much time as possible. If the goalkeeper
has a ball in his hands and puts it down he can play with his feet. If the ball is not
in his hands he can hold the ball at his feet for as long as he wants. With the ball at
his feet he acts just like another field player. Giving the other team a one man advantage.
But because he has the ball at his feet he is not at his strongest. Most goalkeepers
are stronger when the ball is in their hands. And that's just how long a goalkeeper can
hold the ball in soccer.
