Hello everybody, I'd like to introudce you to the second part of dota2bid.com
which is dota2bid.com/bets.
If this is the first time you've heard of dota2bid.com,
head over there now to familiarise yourself with the system we've got running.
So we're currently working on the betting part of the website
and we need some help finding out what to fix and what to improve.
Please head over to dota2bid.com/bets if you're not already there,
and remember to "Sign in through Steam" in the upper right corner.
Don't be alarmed, this is very early beta stage of the website
and we're still using rather basic layout.
First of all, in the beta version we will be using Virtual DBM's
and this currency wont be exchangable for dota2 items.
Each betatester will receive 1000 VDBM's to start off with
and in case you lose everything, you will be allowed to draw an additional 100 VDBM every hour.
Once the beta come to an end,
the top 3 betatesters with the highest VDBM's gathered through betting will be rewarded.
Rewards can be found under the video.
When the beta phase ends depends on various factors and it's still not yet known.
Allright let's move on.
Our betting system is slightly different in comparision to the better known Dota2Lounge system.
The main difference being when your bets are matched.
On Dota2Lounge your bets are matched after the game is finished
which means you dont know the exact odds you are betting on.
So we are providing a system where your bets are matched in real time.
It means you get to choose which already matched odds you want to bet,
plus it gives you the ability to bet on Dota 2 matches that are already in progress.
It may sound a little complicated at first but it really isnt.
I'll give you a quick example of how it works.
Allright, lets choose an event from the left-hand side of the screen,
we choose G-League Alliance versus Navi.
As you can see, some new elements have popped up in the middle of the screen,
and we call that "the bets navigator".
In the bottom part here we can navigate between different game events,
like a game 1 winner, the game 2 winner, or a match winner.
In the middle of navigation box you can see we've got 2 colour brackets,
We use the blue bracket if we want to bet on Alliance, and the pink one for Navi.
Each bracket contains 149 boxes, each refering to different odds.
You can navigate between the odds using the up and down arrows on the screen.
Each odds box contains 2 numbers.
The first large number is the actual odds that you'll be betting on.
It tells you how much you can win when you're betting on that selected box.
For example, if we want to bet 100 VDBM on Alliance at the rate of 2.22,
we will have to multiply that stake (100 VDBM) by the odds (2.22),
so the full amount we would win will be 222 VDBM,
with 100 of our stake and 122 profit. Simple as that.
The second number in the box, under the odds, is telling us how much money is in the corresponding odds market.
It tells us how much we are allowed to bet at this rate so it can be accepted immediately.
For example: The blue 2.25 odds box has 240 VDBM on the market,
if we are going to place a bet for 240 on this one,
it will be placed immediately with a possible profit of 300 VDBM's.
Should you wanna place a larger bet, it will be dealt with slightly differently.
If we placed 300 VDBM's on this one,
we now have a chance to make a profit of 375.
I'll go ahead and push the place bet button.
But note now that we will have to wait 8 seconds before our bet is actually placed.
Now we can see a bet for the amount of 240 VDBM
with a profit 300 in the "Matched bets box",
and the remaining 60 VDBM with a profit of 75 in the "Unmatched bets box",
which together gives us possibility of 375 profit for a bet at the stake of 300.
Now let's take a look at the blue bracket again,
the box with the rate of 2.25.
The amount of money on the market has dropped down to 0,
however in the opposite pink box corresponding the 1.8 odds, the market has raised to 75.
If we want to match our unmatched bet for the profit of 75 VDBM,
we simply need somebody to bet at least 75 VDBM in the pink box corresponding the 1.8 odds to Na'Vi.
You'll also notice the newly created numbers on the sides of the odds box
that we placed a bet for.
The right one is the matched bet and the left one is an unmatched bet.
It's important to note that any unmatched bets can be cancelled at any time,
however any remaining unmatched bets after the Dota 2 match is finished will be cancelled automatically.
It means that any unmatched stake that you've paid extra will be returned to you.
Allright I guess that's it for now, I hope I've explained everything clearly and you guys understand how it works,
so have fun, good luck, and thank you for your time!
