Hello my friends and welcome to another Tuesday of Tutorial!
I am Leonardo Pereznieto and today we'll draw something that I have been asked for very much, recently.
And that it: Curls.
Previously I drew the face, now let's do the hair.
First sketch some guidelines on how it will flow.
In the places where the curls are going to be, we can do some parallel lines.
My inspiring Muse for this drawing is my good friend Gaby Motomochi.
She has a very successful channel in Youtube for tutorials of beauty and makeup, in Spanish.
To see it, click on the video.
Ok, good. When you have finished sketching the hair, you can start shading it, beginning
with the darkest areas.
I'm using a soft lead, a 3B.
The complete list of materials is in the information below the video.
I don't recommend doing hair by hair because otherwise it will look like it has spaghetti
on the head.
Rather let's look for the volumes and masses of hair.
Once we have the shadows we can smudge them with the brush.
After smudging we reinforce some shadows. For this I'm using an even softer lead, a 6B.
And we smudge again.
We can also go over the shadows of the face to integrate it all.
Then, with the kneaded eraser we pull some lights.
For the background I'm going to use the graphite powder that I save when I sharpen the leads.
With this and with a brush we can paint.
I'll do some abstract forms.
If you are going to use this technique, I recommend you to first test it on a blank piece of paper,
because if it goes wrong you may ruin the whole drawing.
It has happened to me.
I would like more contrast, therefore, I'm going to darken the shadows and pull some more lights.
I even use some charcoal pencil for the more intense blacks.
In this way we can continue building the shapes.
And at this point we can also build more detail.
To smudge and shade smaller areas, it is better to use a stomp than a brush.
I really love drawing with this technique.
I based this drawing on pictures that I took of Gaby,
but when I draw from pictures I always like to give the final touches from life with the model.
There is an essence and detail which you can not see on a picture and that is why it is
so important to have the model live.
Her long lashes,
her deep gaze, and it's ready!
[Leo, let me see! Please, I can't wait! My God! My God I love it!]
Do you like it? [Yes! I like it so much!]
As I told you at the beginning Gaby is a very successful blogger with over 150,000 subscribers
in Youtube, 180,000 fans on Facebook,
and she makes very useful beauty and makeup tutorials,
so all the girls should definitely subscribe to her channel [thank you, yes]
and all the men should also subscribe to her channel since she is so pretty and charismatic.
[Thank you so much].
If you liked the video please give it a LIKE and subscribe to Gaby's channel
and my channel, and I'll see you on Tuesday. [Adios].
