We invite you to review of wireless speaker Antec SP1.
Speaker is packed in a small box. The front part is made of clear plastic which allows you to see how the speaker looks like. On the box and on the speaker we have the name A.M.P. which stands for "Antec Mobile Products", and SP1 stands for the model of this speaker. On the back and bottom of the box you can find some basic information about the speaker.
After removing the bottom of the box we see "Share the Experience" which encourages us to share our music with friends. Under that we find two types of cables, two leaflets and a brochure.
The first cable is used to connecting SP1 speaker to devices that don't have Bluetooth. It is gold plated 3.5 mm jack which guarantees even better sound quality. The length of the cable is 50 cm. The cable is ribbon like which reduces tangling up.
The second cable is used for charging the battery in the speaker. You connect the micro-USB to your speaker and USB end f.eg. to your laptop. The cable length is 50 cm, and is also flat.
The manufacturer adds small note that recommends charging the battery full before using the speaker.
In this leaflet we can learn about warranty.
And this is a manual in several languages.
SP1 speaker is small and looks very nice. It has a trapezoidal shape on the side. SP1 is available in seven colors. The speaker is covered with nice in touch rubber, which prevents sliding and protects against scratching the surface on which it is located.
The front and back of the SP1 speaker is covered with a black plastic with small holes, under that there is a mesh that covers the speaker. All together it looks very good.
On the right side of the speaker there is turn on/off switch. When you turn on the speaker it lights up. LED in white color indicates that the battery is fully charged. LED in red color indicates that the battery is low. When LED in blinking in white color it indicates that the speaker is searching for devices via Bluetooth. If the LED blinks in white and red it indicates that the battery is charging. Below the switch there is 3,5mm input and micro USB.
On the top of the unit there are 3 buttons. The buttons with "minus" and "plus" are responsible for volume down and up. The middle button has several functions. After holding it for 6 to 8 seconds SP1 switches to interconnectivity mode which allows you to connect to the speaker via Bluetooth. During music playback press the button to pause or resume playing music. The last function of this button is to receive or end calls. The loudspeaker has built-in microphone, which is also located on top of the speaker.
Now a little bit of the tech specs: The dimensions of this speaker are: 15.8 cm (H) x 4.1 cm (W) x 6.2 cm (D). The weight is only 380 grams. Range: about 10m.
Music playback time up to 10 hours. A.M.P. gives two years warranty. And the rest of the specs you will find in the video description.
Summing up: The speaker is well made and looks very nice! Despite its small size it works well. The sound is clean, has a very good bass and lets you play the music really loud. We are very impressed with the quality of sound and performance. Thanks to its compact size you can take it everywhere with you. The only thing we are not impressed with is the microphone which is a bit quiet, but it is not the most important feature of this speaker. We recommend Antec SP1!
