When a friend asks you to take care of his/her dog, it is just as important as taking care
of your dog. You don't want your friend to come back when their dog is sick or has run
away, so find out how to take care of their dog.
Make sure to ask the owner questions about their dog before they leave, such as.
Does the dog have any allergies, illnesses, or specific needs; does the dog stay inside
or outside; what kind of food does the dog eat; and most importantly: how long will you
be gone? because you want to have enough supplies and understanding for the dog while it stays
at your house. When you bring the dog home, make sure you
have some treats, a leash, a dog bed if necessary, a brush, food, and water..
You will need all of these to take care of the dog.
Keep the dog securely in an area.. You shouldn't close the doors around the dog
in case something happens or the dog gets, hurt, instead, try to use baby gates.
Give the dog fresh food and water, and make sure its living space is clean..
Take the dog on a walk, and, depending on its size, make it short enough or long enough
to where the dog stays healthy..
Take the dog outside so that it can use the restroom often..
Make sure to notice if the dog needs to go outside.
Nothing says "I love you" to a dog as much as some cuddle time, play time, treats, or
training, depending on the dog.. Make sure the dog has enough human contact
to stay happy. Make sure the dog does not have any stickers
or cuts when he comes inside from a walk or playtime..
Give the dog a bath as much as he/she needs it, depending on his/her size..
Give your friend phone calls regularly to ask for tips and tell him/her how the dog's
doing..
Thank you for watching!
