A Gay Mormon Coming Out (live)

Hey everyone! My name is Jimmy and I'm a gay Mormon. So what does being a gay Mormon mean? Well, it means I'm going to live a celebate life. Sucks. It has been very hard and frankly, us gay Mormons, we need your help. We're already very lonely. It doesn't help that people pretend or act like we're not here. Coming out to people has been very difficult. In fact the hardest person to come out to was myself. As I started telling other people that I'm gay I had this idea to capture them all on video. I'm not quite sure why...So who better than to tell, than my own roommate, right here, right now? I'm gay. Really? Uh huh. Well that was fun. My roommate wasn't the only person I decided to catch on video. I got some family members, some friends; Let's take a look at those videos really quick. I'm not sexually attracted to woman. I am totally attracted to men. and... I am totally gay. ... I am totally gay. Are you being serious? Uh huh. I am gay. Do you know why I don't ever ask Chloe out on a date? Why? Because I'm gay. You're not gay. I am! You're not gay. You're gay. I am. Are you serious? Are you serious? I am gay. I'm gay. I....am.....totally.....gay. (very loud laughter) Are you bisexual? No, I'm not. Not even ***? I don't like *** (laughs). I need to tell you something. Yeah, what? I'm gay. Hahaha! You're so funny. I'm serious I'm serious Wow. Yeah. I had my suspicions for a while just cause I feel like you've said stuff before that's like you're not attracted to girls, But you never said anything about men. Yeah. I'm gay! You're not gay. I am...(laughs) Yes I am! Khanh, he is gay. I am gay. I'm sorry Jimmy. No you're not serious...? I'm dead serious. Why are you videoing this? Really though? Yeah. Really though? I am. James... No! No! hahahahahaha! hahahahahahahahaha! Dallin is laughing hahaha!!! hahahahahahahahaha! Well now you know. Well that's a bummer. That's....uh. I'm OK with that. Yeah? Cool, cool. Well i'm proud of you. Thank you That's awesome. He goes on his mission in two weeks so it'll be good. Well you know I still love you bro. Yeah, I know. I've always notice you don't really talk to girls. Yeah. Yeah. I'm shocked right now. I do love you though. I thought you would have suspected. As a Mormon I have an eternal perspective, and that's what keeps me going. It still sucks. doctrine of the mormon church is again changed Now doctrine of the mormon church isn't going chang. But members of the church are changing Int that they're becoming more understanding about those of us who are gay and Mormon. Ever since I've started coming out and telling people that i'm gay, I feel like a huge burden has been lifted off of me. I think prior to the the biggest problem was ignorance. People had no reason or incentive to think about this. People have reached out with love, understanding and empathy. For you straight people out there, I understand it might be difficult to get your head wrapped around this. It's not easy. To you other gay Mormons out there, just know that you're no alone. If you choose to come out, come out in your own way and in your own time. I hope this video has helped you understand more about those of us who are gay and Mormon. My YouTube channel has been up for one year now. This past year was really hard since I came out to myself and started coming out to others. I got really down. But while I was down I wrote this song. Feel free to take a listen to it. It's kind of depressing but i think it's a story that people people need to hear.
