The highest judge may come tonight, His eyes are kind, his hand is just,
He sits upon the rainbow bridge And in him I place all my trust
My name is in the book of life My Jesus Christ has paid the price
He lifts his finger to the right And points me into paradise.
And there I find all pleasant things, A Fountain filled with shiny fish,
And trees that bear delicious fruit, And bow their branches on a wish;
And arbours filled with dainty scents Where lovely flowers never fade;
Flies that glitter in the sun, Glow-worm shining in the shade.
Talking birds with gifted tongues, Singing songs, telling tales,
Pretty angels show the way To rolling hills and shady dales.
But when the wicked come to Christ They curse his name with all their might
He lifts his finger to the left And points them into hellish fright
Where demons come with glaring eyes, And devils growl, a dreadful noise,
And Satan draws his cruel knife, And torment them as pointless toys.
Where horrid waves come rushing down, and raging flames come scorching round,
Nightmares hover in the air, And poison crawls along the ground.
O wicked people wake and weep, Repent and trust in Jesus Christ
He saves you from the hellish fright and leads you to unchanging light
The highest judge may come tonight, His eyes are kind, his hand is just,
He sits upon the rainbow bridge And in him I place all my trust
