THE EXPO WILL BE BACK IN MARCH
WITH A SPRING VERSION.
TONIGHT, THE STORY OF A WOMAN
WHO REFUSES TO GIVE UP.
PARALYZED IN A CAR CRASH TWO
YEARS AGO, NOW, SHE IS
SURPRISING EVEN HERSELF.
AMANDA CRAWFORD SHARES HER
STORY.
AMANDA: THIS WALL, THE
HARNESSES, ALL BRING BACK
MEMORIES FOR RACHAEL JOHNSON.
I USED TO DO ROCK CLIMBING
AND BUILDING CLIMBING.
AMANDA: SHE SUDDENLY STOPPED.
IN JUNE 2013, A CRASH LEFT HER
PARALYZED, BARELY ABLE TO MOVE
HER ARMS.
HER CAR ROLLED INTO A DITCH.
SHE WAS TRAPPED AND ALONE FOR
HOURS.
SHE TALKED TO THE EDB THAT -- TO
KETV THAT FALL.
HER SPIRIT WAS FEARLESS.
SINCE IT, SHE HAS GONE THROUGH
REHAB AND IF POSSIBLE, HER SMILE
GOT BRIGHTER AND HER SPIRIT
STRONGER.
THAT IS RACHEL.
DOING WHAT SHE LOVES.
REFUSING TO GIVE UP.
EXCELLENT.
ONE MORE.
YOU HAVE GOT THIS.
NICE.
[APPLAUSE]
AMANDA: HER WHEELCHAIR, LEFT
BEHIND.
ON HER FACE IS FOCUSED AND FIRM
RESOLVE.
THE SAME CONVICTION HELPED HER
TO SURVIVE THAT CRASH.
NICE WORK.
AMANDA: NOW, TAKING HER TO THE
TOP, A PLACE SHE THOUGHT SHE
WOULD NEVER SEE AGAIN.
IT IS LIBERATING AND FREE.
-- FREEING.
AMANDA: SHE WORKS WITH QLI, A
REHABILITATION CENTER IN OMAHA.
AS SHE REBUILDS HER MUSCLES,
EXPERIENCES LIKE THIS SERVE AS A
REMINDER.
SHE HAS ALL SHE NEEDS TO BE
UNSTOPPABLE.
THERE IS NOTHING THAT I
CANNOT DO.
