The 860P is a variation of the 800P movement and has retained its double barrel.
It is a self-winding mechanical movement with a large astronomical moon.
Positioned at 6 o'clock on the dial, it displays the moon phases in a large aperture of 12 mm — a clear design preference of Piaget.
Controlled by an extremely fine gear train, it will only lose or gain one day in 122 years.
A wheel of 135 teeth drives the rotation of the moon mask which, as the name suggests,
hides and then reveals a second disk symbolizing the moon.
Created entirely in gold, this losange has been boiled then cooled to better represent the surface of the moon with all its craters.
This process means that each moon used in the movements is unique.
Circular Côtes de Genève, a circular-grained mainplate, beveled bridges, blued screws
and an oscillating weight engraved with the Piaget coat-of-arms
add the finishing touches to this movement and are reminders of the brand's highly valued aesthetic codes.
