- You won't believe this, I am playing with two rods at the same time.
- 36.750 kg
Hello, and welcome everybody. We are in France, at one of the most famous lakes in the world.
This lake has had lots of record catches,
but there is little information about them.
There are many myths and legends about the lake,
the reason being that this kind of angling is extreme Carp fishing.
The main goal of this series is to show you a fishing method, that we can use in extreme conditions,
so you can fish with it bravely at a place where you would not normally sit down to catch a fish.
I will show you everything step by step, you will see what kind of rig we use, what the feeding strategy is and of course the most important part, the bait.
Join me and enjoy the following presentation.
Let's start at the beginning. Why is this method part of the extreme fishing?
If you glance to side a little bit, you can see what I mean. There are islands, obstructions and a few bushes and trees in the water.
This is a typical scene; we can see only the tip of the iceberg. 10% of it is above the surface, 90% is under water.
It follows that casting from the shore to fish this area is almost impossible.
If we cast the rig exactly to the middle of the obstructions, there is no chance to reel in.
That is why we can only use the bringing in method.
When we are talking about this method of fishing it is important to mention that we must put our rig exactly in the right place,
there are 40-45 humps and breaks but only a few visited by Carp.
One of the most important things is to find those places.
Let's summarize where we are. First we have chosen a lake, which is full of obstructions but we would like to fish there.
Second we have decided that we have to use the bringing in method.
After this we selected a promising area where we are going to put our rig, but here comes the next problem.
What if this area is not exactly in front of us or there are many obstructions under the water between the rods and the place?
To solve this problem we will use the equipment that you can see next to me. I don't want to tell you more at the moment, let's get into the boat and see how it works in practice.
Here is a real example. The chosen area is next to the obstruction.
Next to it on the left about 3 meters there is a hump, which comes up from 2.7 meters to 2 meters.
I would like to put my rig to the top of this 40-50 cm circle.
The first problem is that there is an island in the way so we cannot lead the line here.
I am closer to the island and I will push this stick into the side of it.
With the assistance of the stick we are going to lead the line above the island.
I turn the hook outward, thread the line and we are done.
We can use this solution as well, if we lead our line over an obstruction
the only difference is that we have to fix it to an overhanging branch.
The hook is curved so we can easily lift up the line without a problem, but if I press the tip of the rod towards the water the line will not come out.
To show you how real it is I have come over to the other side of the island, where my line goes to one of the best places.
I haven't used a stick here, I've screwed a small hook onto this dead tree.
As you can see all of the lines of my 4 rods are routed through the air
and it is bent many times.
If I start to move backwards and I am lucky then I can get the fish away from the obstruction straight to the bank.
That is how it happened yesterday evening, you can see the result now.
Just get it.
Because here the water is deep enough.
Fine, it is coming.
Look out, look out! Do it more.
Ohhh, how good. You won't believe it, but this bait was in the water for 3 days and this stunning mirror had it now.
Here you can see the pop up and the pieces of the boilies.
Look at how nice this mirror Carp is.
We put it in the weighing sling and we take it to weigh. Follow me.
16.5 kg.
It is coming up here.
Okay, it is fine.
I put the bait back to where it was for 3 days.
We hope that we do not have to wait another 3 days for a bite and a Carp will find the bait sooner.
We have to move cautiously that is why I will comment tomorrow on what happened.
Now we must be very quiet, because there are few large fish in the lake and they are very careful...
After catching this nice Carp let me introduce the son of our host, he is Imi Gyöngyösi Jr.,
he visited us yesterday evening, received some bait and he had a special catch.
Imi, please say a few words about it.
Hello and welcome everybody. Let me give you the main points. Today at dawn I landed two Carp.
One of 17.35 kg a common, the other one a 24 kg mirror.
Imi that is an amazing result. I think that a 24 kg mirror Carp is
a dream for most anglers and you have such a nice result already as a young Carp angler.
Please tell us, when did you first use SBS products and where did you hear about them?
My friends used the SBS products first, and they showed me how good they were.
Until this morning that was all I knew. I knew that you are fishing here at the moment, so yesterday I came over to talk.
I told you that I have not used SBS products before
and you said that I should try them and gave me some boilies and pellets.
I gave it a try and as you can see an impressive result.
Imi, I would like to ask you to show us what kind of baits you used
and how you caught these nice fish?
The 17.35kg common I caught with a 20 mm diameter SBS M1 boilie. Let me show you.
That is a boiled bait.
That is right and this is a spicy bait, if you're not familiar with it. The 24 kg mirror sucked up a Squid & Octopus flavoured bait.
A Eurostar boilie. Yes, it is a Squid & Octopus flavoured bait.
Yes, this is also a 20 mm one. I combined that with a Dark Firefly Pop Up
that I can show to the audience. This is a pink coloured Pop Up.
This bait is also Squid & Octopus flavour.
That's right, I put this up as a snowman, and the big fish could not resist it.
In addition I made a 5 cm long PVA mesh sausage filled with some Ace Lobworm and M1 pellet mix.
I pulled over the hooklink and that is how I put the rig in the right place.
- Okay, so if understand well, you put them mixed into the PVA mesh. - Yes, you are right. I mixed them, and that's how I put them into the PVA mesh.
That is a very interesting bait combination. To tell you the truth, I have never ever tried to mix these two pellets
but the result confirms your idea. Congratulations for the very nice result. - Thank you.
Congratulations. If you succeed in something bigger, in any event, let us know.
Definitely. Thank you so much.
- I hope that you are satisfied with the products and I wish you tight lines. - I am absolutely satisfied. Thank you.
This wasn't a planned interruption to our fishing movie, but when we said goodbye to my friend Imi, we said that if he came up with some great catches he should contact us.
Well, he called us and he is next to me right now. Nice to see you again Imi.
Hi Zoli, and hello to everyone.
I would like to ask you to give us a few words about why you are here again? What results did you have since we last met?
3 weeks after we met I had the possibility to fish this lake again.
I can say that for these few days I had the best fishing moments of my life thanks to SBS.
On this tour I landed many large Carp. As you can see right now, it was also a memorable fight with the fish.
It is not a big one; it was a common around 15 kg. We recorded these moments only with a handy cam, but maybe this gives an idea of the experience.
Well, It wasn't just because of this result we are sitting here together again. Please tell us what else happened?
On 6th November late in the evening at 11 p.m. I had a bite. It was like a dream, in slow motion.
We came out of the caravan. I took the rod and started to go after the fish.
When we arrived close to it I noticed, that the line was stuck somewhere.
My friend Roland started to untangle the line and we went ahead.
When we caught up to the fish we thought that it should be below the boat. I thought maybe the rig was stuck again and I asked Roland to help.
I asked him to pull the line a little bit, and I asked what he felt. He said that it is not stuck because he felt the fish on the end of the line.
When we first saw the fish we thought it is only a small one because we could not see it clearly.
It was dark.
Yes, it was dark. When we saw it for the second time we were shocked because we had never ever seen such big Carp, especially during a fight.
Don't spin it out, please tell us how big it was.
- We landed the fish and brought it out on the bank. - You are playing for the time...
- When we weighed the fish, the scale showed 36.75 kg. - 36.75 kg? - Yes, 36.75
This means a new Hungarian record. So young...
I had luck and a good bait.
A good bait. Yes, that is important and to have luck. We are just kidding with this, but I am sure, that it counts. 36.75!
That is fantastic Imi. To have this amazing result as a young fisherman is a really big thing. Let me congratulate to you.
Thank you.
Tell us more, what else happened during this fishing trip, were there any other interesting stories?
There was another interesting story, more precisely some more. 4 days later we were playing cards in the caravan
when a slow but continuous bite broke the silence on one of my rods.
We thought that it would be another big catch, but we did not think that big...
We started to go after the fish again. Shortly it came up!
It was an experience again that it is hard to talk about.
Don't say that it was over 30 again.
It was over 35 kg by a few grams.
As soon as we landed it we thought that it was over 40, because it was a giant belly common Carp.
- Common. - That's right. We brought it out and weighed, It was 35.175 kg.
- Well, the hair stood up on my arm. This is incredible Imi! - You are not alone.
- So finally you had two catches over 35 kg. - That's right.
It was an amazing experience.
I really cannot add anything to this story. I don't know if there is anyone so young who has had a result like you.
If I summarise, well you had two giant Carp over 35 kg in four days.
In four days, that's right. Besides these big ones I had also a 26.60 kg common that was also a very nice catch.
Imi, what's next? As a 20 year old young man, what is your goal now?
To catch a 38 kg one, or even bigger.
These are crazy goals. Show us the main things, what kind of rig and bait did you use?
I am sure that many anglers are interested, so am I.
All right. I had several kinds of SBS baits with me.
What I really like is the 20+ Premium Ready Made Boilies with the Ace Lobworm flavour, and the 20+ Premium Pop Ups with the same flavour.
I will show you how I used them. I put one 24 mm diameter bottom bait on the hair (closer to the hook)
and a pop up above that. This snowman is a great balanced bait.
I usually use a small rubber band behind the bottom bait
so that it is not able to slip along the hair and it holds the bottom and the pop up baits together.
Usually everyone uses their favourite hook type.
The hooklink seems to be longer as usual, but as I have experienced the large Carp likes this longer one better than the shorter version.
I attach the hooklink with a quick change swivel to the line.
At the end of the lead core we have the quick change, we can hang on the hooklink's loop and we can secure it with the small rubber sleeves.
With these accessories we can change the hooklink easily, if we do not want to go in and out with the boat to refresh the hookbaits.
Thank you Imi for sharing you experiences with us. Let me congratulate to you again.
Now I say goodbye but as I did last time, I ask you to inform us asap if you have a nice catch again.
Thank you. I promise that I will keep you guys updated.
And now let's go back to the waterfront.
This trip should have ended there earlier, because my fellow anglers, my fishing mate László Pámer caught two nice Carp over 20 kg. You can watch this now!
