Perks of Being a Fashion Stylist

Hi guys. It's time for Ty Style Me on behalf of the QC Style Academy. Today I'm going to share a little personal video with you as to the reasons why I love being a stylist. First off, obviously, I love fashion. Clothes, shoes, accessories, all of it. It's something that I've adored since a young, young age. Once I grew up and I perfected my craft, I worked retail. I realized that I had a really special knack for knowing what looks good on other people. So I opened Ty Style Me. And I always thought, I'm not really creative. But as time went on. And I've been doing the styling business. I realized that I am using my creative side. So I might not be playing an instrument or good at drawing or art. But I am using a creative side by creating looks for people. I find myself sometimes dreaming of outfits at night. That's how much I absolutely love to style. I think for me another reason why I find it so rewarding is I'm not just styling myself. Obviously I love to do that too. I have an amazing closet currently because I do like it so much. But I think what's even better for me is being able to work with other people's styles, their taste. Their body shape. It lets me step outside of what I like and helps me discover what other people like. I think also another reason why I really, really enjoy styling is I'm my own boss. Being a stylist and owning my own business. Owning Ty Style Me gives me the freedom. It gives me the ability to create my own hours for work. I'm a mother to a nine-year-old little boy. So I'm really able to focus on my son but still have a career. So another great reason why being a stylist is really a fabulous career. I think another reason why I like it too is I have these moments where I'm styling a client. And they're not feeling so great in their current wardrobe. So they call me in. And whether I'm building looks out of their wardrobe or we're shopping together. When I' m able to create a look for someone who they feel from the moment they see those clothes on the rack, "Oh, this is not going to work for me." But the moment they try it on and they have that "a-ha" moment where I help them step outside of their box. Create a look for them. It helps give them a new sense of self-confidence.
