Ftp Server Configuration in Linux - Fedora 17

hello today i'm gonna tell u how you can install ftp server in linux machine i'm using federal 17 for this first go to super mode by typing and then enter root password osler then query wether it's installed in your pc or not now i am goona install vsftpd which stand for very secure FTP demon sorry it's written wrong but it's not installed in my pc installed it by typing yum install vsftpd which stand for Very Secure FTP Daemon here the size of package so simply press y to install it so it's installing vsftpd is very secure ftp server for the unix linux like systems so it is installed you can verify it by reading manual pages so the very secure ftp daemon here in the mauals quit it by pressing q so so again i'm quering the package uh... qa means query all it will show it's installed in my pc vsftpd 3.0 version now i'm gonna start the service service vftpd sorry vsftpd this command is generally used in red hat i used in that but in this case you have to use it differently as the systemic copy this and type so uh... site type enable here and and and and and we accepted meeting vsftpd.service good under the general public license it supports it support ipv6 and ssl as well know your ip address by typing command ifconfig i've on thing so i'm using address 127 .. uh... if you are in the net (network address translation ) address may be different starting from 10 or something so there is root directory of the fpt server you can also create the some directory inside the root directory so that give me something of that and then ftp server on var directory here you can find the pub go to the pub make dir or make any kind of directory like upload so you can do this so so thank you for watching this video and so
