Hello, this is a tutorial of the BEM TE VI,
the application that displays dynamically
how the most important natural resource
in Brazil (the land) is being used.
The BEM TE VI app organized
a number of information from reliable sources
and compiled in a very simple way to use.
Therefore, in one place you can know about:
price of forest products, land prices, wood products, transport, forestry and more.
This video is a brief demonstration of how you can quickly find an data you need.
Let´s go.
First of all,
you come here on the left of the screen
and you have the variables, which is basically what you want to know.
I'll click here on “price of the land” according to FNP.
Now you see graphically the land price panorama in Brazil.
Here, above the map, we have the theme that we want to know,
the variable we choose and the source, which means,
where the numbers comes from.
At the bottom left,
we have the chart legend and the unit of measurement,
which is R $ / ha.
By default,
the darker on the color palette,
the higher is the value.
Ok, but, how can I get into a specific data?
Let's click here in the upper right corner and add filters,
just to get the data you need.
You can filter the type of land you are interested.
I'll choose all the type of land,
I will not mark any specification.
The FNP has the methodology that collect the price of the land for mesoregion,
so if you want to know the price in a state dimension,
or even in Brazil - country dimension,
you can choose here in “grouping of statistics” as you want these grouped data.
Here in the data statistic,
as I said, is necessarily about the mesoregion,
but you can also choose what you want, I'll let "moda".
In fact, I'll put “moda” on both,
which is the most frequent value,
the most common number.
You can also place as a filter year,
I will leave in 2015.
Here, at the territorial level I'll put state.
Again, note that you have access graphically and imagetically
about a land price panorama in Brazil.
If you want to know the price in São Paulo, specifically,
you can click in the State of São Paulo
and that´s it!
Here below you have the data that you want
with all the filters you have chosen previously.
State of São Paulo. 20 000 R $ / ha: land type: all
Statistical data and grouping: moda and 2015.
Well, you can also go further if you want.
The states of Brazil are huge,
let's assume that you want to know
the prices in the state of São Paulo.
OK Let´s go!
You can go back to the filters
and choose other option here
in territorial level, now I will pick the mesoregion option.
Okay, now the chart moved to mesoregion.
To get more of this feature,
you can come here in the upper left corner to zoom in
to select the mesoregion you want to know nore about.
For example,
I chose the region of Piracicaba,
here below are the data that I selected
You can also view
or compare prices at different periods.
How is that?
I'll put here in the “statistical grouping”
the average price,
in “the territorial level” I chose ‘country”,
and here I chose 2007, for example.
That is,
you can follow the evolution of the market,
in this case,
you see the price of land evolution in Brazil with the Bem te vi app.
In this case, I chose Brazil,
but you can choose a much smaller region as Piracicaba
or Campinas, as we saw earlier.
Another important detail is that you can change the color palette if you wish.
Nothing changes, it´s just a graphic issue.
So if you realize that the best contrast
is in black and white for you,
you come here and change it.
For me it's better the red/pink color palette, so I changed again.
Now I will show how to use the feature:
FOREST PRODUCTS TRANSPORT.
Well, I'm on the top left where are the variables,
click here in the FOREST PRODUCTS TRANSPORT option
and then LOAD VALUE.
The source used is the IBAMA.
When we speak of goods transportation,
it is because the goods come out of one place
and go to another place,
it has origin and destination.
So, I'm here in the upper right corner,
up here in the filters,
I will click here on “map of destination”,
and here I'm going to put the state of São Paulo.
All right, here in the “product group”
I will mark all products,
I will not specify,
the year I will leave in 2013.
Here in “species (or gender)” I'm going to put “all”.
In “territorial level” I will put “state”.
This map shows
the value of the cargo which is intended to go to Sao Paulo.
So, if I click on Acre state, for example,
which means that number?
It Acre load value which is intended to Sao Paulo.
But, what if you click in São Paulo?
The same thing,
the value of the cargo that is destined for the domestic market of Sao Paulo.
What if I change here for “ORIGIN map”?
Let´s go.
Now, this map shows the cargo value
whose origin is the state of São Paulo.
So if we click here in Bahia, for example,
what does the map shows?
The load value transported to Bahia
which the origin is the state of São Paulo.
It is interesting that you can understand
the relationship between the states with each other,
but you also can search about the relationship of one specific state with Brazil.
I will explain, it is very easy.
Let's go back to the filters.
Here on the map
I will click here in “origin”
and i choose São Paulo state, for exemple.
In other word, products of São Paulo that go to others states of Brazil.
Now I'm going to put a specific product,
I will choose here in the products groups the charcoal option.
Here and here.
At the territorial level option I put country.
That´s it!
What the map shows now?
The amount of cargo whose origin is the state of São Paulo
the amount of cargo that is leaving the state of São Paulo and going to other regions and states.
I click here
and I have this number.
That´s it!
Well, this is the end of this tutorial about the BEM TE VI,
the application that shows how Brazil uses the most important natural resource: the land.
Always dynamically, and on the palm of your hand.
Have a good week and goodbye
