Barco Sets up Flagship Reference Site in One of Belgium's Major General Hospitals

When we acquired the Barco monitors, we were convinced we had the best screens on the market. With the I-Guard sensor, the internal self-calibration, and also with QAWeb, we are convinced this quality is assured 24 hours day. AZ Groeninge is an 1,100-bed hospital divided over 4 different sites in the city of Kortrijk. It's organized that way that every specific pathology group has its own site and a dedicated radiology department is available within every site. These four departments can only work efficiently if a good PACS system is available. I was convinced that with the introduction of color, the quality of our grayscale images would not be the same, but I was surprised and I was impressed. Our studies look very good, and the quality is excellent on the Barco 6MP. We had already good diagnostic accuracy on the 3MP grayscale monitors. With the additional color information of the Barco 6MP Color, we can do faster and more accurate diagnoses. With the Barco Color display, we can stay at one workstation; we don't have to move to another room or to another workstation to do some advanced processing. That saves us a lot of time. Barco Coronis screens offer a very strict quality control system that is web-based so that a single operator can easily overview the performance of all screens on different sites. QAWeb can accurately predict which systems will reach end of life and when they will need to be replaced. This allows us to better plan future investments. Thanks to QAWeb we are sure the quality of the displays is assured every day, 24 hours a day.
