Today on Max TV:
"Stop TVP Polonia"petition has over 20,000 signatures.
Issue two:
The less people read newspapers in Poland,
the more underwear falls off women -
- i.e. nudity in Polish media.
Issue three:
"Falling Eagle" from Mexico meets Polish Eagle on the beach in Gdynia.
Both eagles after a few beers but as always, the Polish one was more guilty.
Mariusz Max Kolonko, Max TV, welcome.
"Mexico shocked by attack on sailors at Polish beach".
Such headlines were all over America and the world, on Monday evening.
It's because the Mexican Foreign Ministry issued a statement,
that 57 cadets and officers of the Mexican naval sailing ship,
were attacked by 300 sports club fans, during their break at Baltic beach.
Mexico send a diplomatic note to Polish Foreign Ministry,
demanding finding and punishing the culprits,
and Polish ambassador in Mexico was called on the carpet to Mexican MFA.
So Mexican MFA protests, but also sends the info
to the Associated Press, which reveals that to the whole world.
So we all learn, that Polish beach is one of the most dangerous in Europe.
How did Mexican MFA get the information about this incident?
From the Mexican ship's captain, and Polish press.
One year after BBC informed about Polish stadiums of hate,
before EURO 2012,
the world learns about Polish beaches of hate.
But this time information comes from the Polish press,
which reported this incident like this:
"Dramatic events on the beach in Gdynia.
A group of Mexican sailors was attacked by Polish hooligan-fans. -
- hooligan-fans is a scornful expression -
They beat them senseless shouting: "Darkies!", "***!"
Sailors were sunbathing,
when they got attacked by probably drunk, half-naked men,
wearing scarves with a football team logo."
Scarves? On a beach?
Polish beaches are so cold, one must be very careful.
"Aggressors were chasing Mexicans shouting "Darkies!" and "***!"
That was "Gazeta Wyborcza".
"Fakt" wrote: "Big fight in Gdynia. Hooligan-fans beat Mexican sailors."
But later, a new fact came up.
Police reveals the monitoring records and TVN 24 interprets:
"Sailors accost a woman, and then hooligans attack them"
It's not true, you can see on this video,
that the Mexican didn't bother this woman and she didn't bother him.
But the new element appears. The first real proof.
And so the doubt arises: what if it was the other way around?
If the Mexicans provoked the incident?
Mexican MFA knows that expression: "drunk as a sailor" exists for a reason.
They know that a sailor in a harbor is like a football fan on a stadium.
"Sailors of an Australian navy ship "Success" were drunk, had sex in public places."
"Brawl of U.S. and British sailors in a Lisbon's bar:
there were 100 of injured, police was very aggressive."
In January 2 drunk U.S. sailors were arrested in Japan,
Since the beginning of the year police intervened 20 times.
"Drunk sailors were groping waitresses and women on the street,
and get into the fights with Japanese."
Mexican MFA knows all of that.
They read news from Gdynia and can't be sure about their sailors.
So they do what you may know from school:
You fight with someone, but he is the first to go a teacher,
and you are a bad guy, who must explain himself.
And that's what politicians do, it's called anticipation,
preceding the course of events.
That's what Mexican MFA did, sending a dispatch.
They know the sailors are no nuns from Veracruz
and it all could have been the other way around.
So they act fast to put Polish diplomacy in defensive.
They are perfectly aware, that all may change very soon.
And that's just what happens:
"At the beginning, a group of 7 Mexicans
was accosting people at the beach.
When they approached football fans,
it came to a quarrel, which turned into a brawl."
"It was sparked by groping
and hitting a woman in her face by a Mexican sailor.
One of the football fans was stabbed with a knife
while defending this woman.
Football fans rushed to help their mate.
It all led to the fight,
in which Mexicans used a knife and broken bottles."
Prosecutor is indignant:
"The Poles were attackers.
I don't know why the police's spokesman says otherwise.
Political establishment supports the media establishment:
TVN 24 spoke with the captain, who said: "I vouch for my sailors."
Next to him president of Gdynia is being interviewed.
But what's that on the picture?
Could it be white sailor's trousers?
And hands that hold him are policemen hands?
Three policemen.
Let's see the video:
- There's one certain thing here:
guests from Cuauhtemoc are town's guests and they deserve special protection.
It's a cabaret.
Obviously it was accidental,
but when he was talking about the guests who needed a special care,
3 policemen were taking care of those guests to keep them on the ground.
The rest is so drunk, that they barely stand on their feet.
In this case it was accidental,
but next reports of this fight, always show arresting of Mexicans.
Let's see the main video of this case.
You've seen it already, but I'll show some new elements.
Person observing the beach doesn't notice everything,
but those things that disturb him: scanty bikini, or person in a scarf.
But this time it was not the bikini or the scarf,
but the group of Mexican sailors.
All the records we saw, concentrate on them.
Just as if they made him anxious so he directed his camera on them.
And they are leaving in such a hurry that they leave empty bottles.
This guy is picking something up.
Is that a Montezuma's treasure? No, it's a Polish beer.
The other one is staring.
What is he looking at? Who is he afraid of?
Now on the left there's a pretty girl holding a bottle.
Did she drink a beer?
No, she wants them to clean up after themselves.
There's no contact between them, like TVN said.
They are all looking in one direction like a sailor on the cloud.
Who are they afraid of?
Maybe they're taking off, because they messed something up,
and now the Polish storm is coming.
And that's exactly what happens.
All this incident is not about who hit first.
What we see here,
is what Hollywood screenwriters call "Mexican standoff".
It's when people stand opposite to each other and aim at one another.
A fly or a sneeze is enough to start shooting.
This Mexican standoff in Gdynia began,
when both groups started to drink beer on the beach.
Had there been no alcohol, this incident wouldn't have happened.
That's the problem here, and not who started the fight.
You won't bring a bottled beer to a beach in America.
It's different in different states, but you can't bring bottles to a beach,
because if it breaks, you can't clean it well,
and someone may step on it, hurt himself, and you have a law suit.
But in Poland,
art.14 of 30-year-old Upbringing in Sobriety and Alcoholism Prevention Act
indirectly says, you can drink alcohol on a beach.
This incident wouldn't have happened,
if it had been prohibited to drink alcohol on a beach.
That's the main problem,
which media and politicians should talk about now,
instead of expressing regret, like Polish MFA did.
We have already apologized to Ukrainians, and we were hit with an egg.
We apologized to Lithuanians for banner in Poznan:
"Anti-Lithuanian banner:
"Lithuanian cad, kneel down before Polish master",
we find scandalous and pitiful sign of fatuity and ignorance,
which MFA objects to."
And somehow no one writes about the fact, that Lithuanians were shouting in Lithuania:
"Polish b..." and "Poles flow slowly with the river".
Polish authorities didn't protest when their tires were cut, and cars scratched,
on their return from this match.
And that's why football fans made this banner in a protest.
Polish authorities didn't protest
when 16-year-old Daniel was beaten senseless in Vilnius.
Now Polish MFA pities Mexicans,
but they could've also protest as first against Mexican sailors' behavior in Poland.
The world would hear this message.
Just like Japanese did: they told about Americans' behavior in Japan.
All we gained after Euro 2012 is gone now.
In public opinion we have stadiums of hate and now also beaches of hate.
Football fans are not to blame, but Polish media are.
Their reports were not objective,
because in a Mexican standoff,
always both sides are to blame for pulling the trigger.
I tell it like it is.
Max TV's appeal for shutting down TVP Polonia, has over 22,000 of signatures,
on Facebook and MaxKolonko.com.
My last commentary: "Kumbaya Poland" had nearly half a million views.
Max TV is now the fastest growing opinion-making channel on YouTube:
in January: 4,000 subscribers, 400,000 views,
July: 250,000 subscribers, 17 million of views.
And that's your success, not mine,
as I don't exist without you. TV doesn't exist without you.
If I won't tell about your success, no one will.
One may say: nearly 0,5 million of views of one commentary,
and only 23,000 signatures for TVP Polonia shutdown?
In America 25,000 signatures forces the President to act.
America has 300 million of citizens.
If you raise 150,000 signatures within 30 days,
your petition, whatever it is, must be published on the White House's web site.
25,000 signatures within 30 days -
President must deal with it.
That's how it was until 2 years ago President Obama,
raised the limit to 150,000,
because people were demanding separation of some states from the U.S.
They didn't like Obama's politics, so he raised the limit.
That's how totalitarian system fights with an active society.
Authorities want obedient and passive society,
they don't like referendums, or petitions.
In Poland it takes 400,000 signatures to dismiss Warsaw's President.
Total authority wants obedient and passive society,
and give them festivals like Woodstock or "Dancing with the Stars".
Yes, but there are no "stars" in Poland.
So let's create them, we own tabloids,
let's make a star from that girl who showed up on Euro2012 soccer match
But she's got no talent for anything...
So what, we don't show diplomas here,
we show something else here
On some Poland's information portal I counted about a dozen of words like: sex, woman, body.
Poland is the only country I know,
where nudity is on first pages of Internet portals.
Some will say - What's wrong with that?
Children and youth also surf the Internet,
it's a question of how we raise our society.
If you try to show such pictures in the U.S.,
mothers will destroy you within 3 minutes.
I must pixelize images, so they don't take this commentary off YouTube.
You blur graphic nudity.
That's the world's trend.
German "Bild" took nakedness off the first page last year.
Irish "Sun" ditched nudity on the third page.
On American web sites nakedness is always obliterated,
in Poland - a catholic country - nudity sells the papers.
Since we can't write, something must sell it.
But America is such a free country, everything's allowed.
No.
That's how the Polish media want you to see America.
America is a very conservative country,
75% of the country is centre-conservative, very traditional.
As I told you, America likes Christian and Gospel music.
That's the trend.
But that's not the image, that Polish media want to show you.
"You show summary of music sales,
where in 2012 Christian/Gospel sales was lower than in 2011,
and you say it's a record???
It's on the 7th place!!!
Is it the way you say?
Either you can't read data (doubtful),
or you manipulate, like... all the media do.
You don't tell it like it is..."
Mr. Rafal, lets look at the list again:
Christian/Gospel music sells better than jazz, classical and new age all together.
Obviously nothing beats rock.
If gospel beat rock,
we'd have an archbishop in the White House, not the President.
We'd have a black pope, but we have a black President instead.
Also: we have 1400 radio stations playing Christian/Gospel music,
that's 80 million of listeners.
It's a phenomenon.
In Poland it takes 30,000 of sold records to get a platinum.
In America, 20 million albums of this music sells every year.
In a 300 million country. It's a record number.
Christian music sells nearly as good as rap music, as the summary says.
Somehow, in Poland, where America and rap are so popular,
I don't see people, who do this:
to do this now:
I think we are about 30 years behind in this matter.
In America, the 80's were the time of the "Wiggers":
white ***.
Whites pretended to be blacks, they wore their hats backwards.
That's it.
Here, Christian and gospel music are popular,
but media won't tell you this.
You want a gospel concert? Go to a church.
23,000 of signatures for shutting down TV Polonia.
Is that a lot or not?
I won't go to President Komorowski, and ask for his answer.
I won't ask politicians to state their opinion.
I ask the question, but I won't demand an answer.
I am no agitator, it's your money not mine.
You pay for us,
but me and 10 million of Poles in the U.S. don't watch it.
I only ask the questions
and want to see on which side certain Polish politicians are.
Do Polish authorities, who want to fight pathology on stadiums,
on the beaches also want to fight media pathology.
As TV Polonia is a media pathology.
I tell it like it is.
"Max's right. Kumbaya!!! Look at the penalties...
For stealing a bike-3 years, for raping a child-3 years!
For tax fraud, wastefulness: 2 years probation.
So a bike is more valuable than the human life, or lives!
Closed plants mean hundreds or thousands of families.
We don't have automobile industry anymore,
no shipyards, no computers, only a few mines have left.
Kumbaya!!!"
And finally -
- there's a term: "hands-on reporting".
A journalist puts his hands on what he talks about,
and stays close to the topic.
But not always it turns out for good.
