X Factor 2017: Rak-Su's winners song out of the Christmas Number 1 race
Itd take a Christmas miracle for X Factor winners Rak-Su to get this years festive Number 1. Rak-Su were crowned the winners of The X Factor 2017 earlier this month, beating Grace Davies in the final showdown.
The pair were top of the vote at Saturday nights freeze where Kevin Davy White went home, finishing in third place. Dimelo is Rak-Sus winners song, a duet featuring rapper Wyclef Jean and producer Naughty Boy on the groups owns original song.
The track peaked at Number 2 last week behind Ed Sheeran and Beyonce, just missing out on the top spot. In its latest week on sale, the song has fallen to Number 7 according to the Official Charts Company Update.
Christmas tracks such as All I Want For Christmas Is You and Last Christmas overtook the X Factor champions ahead of the holiday season. However at Number 1 its a battle between Eminem and Ed Sheeran.
It means Rak-Su are very unlikely to get close to the Christmas Number 1 spot this year.
Its not too surprising given that the final this year took place earlier than usual. Its now been three years since the last X Factor Christmas Number 1 when Ben Haenow had the festive char topper.
Instead of Rak-Su, bookmakers believe that pop music giants Ed Sheeran and Beyonce will be topping the charts on Christmas Day.
Peter Watton, spokesman for OddsMonkey says “Rak-Su are fancied for success and are 4/1 across the board, but Ed Sheeran’s Perfect duet with Beyonce is odds-on, at best you get around 8/15 at the moment,”.
“The odds now suggest that Perfect is just short of 70% probability wise to take the honours, and it one of the few achievements the Suffolk megastar has not yet accomplished.
“This does mean that previous favourite George Michael as Wham is now out to 6/1 with Last Christmas – his iconic December anthem which only ever made it to number two.
Michael died on Christmas Day 2016, and many believed his fans would mark it by making him number one, but that appears unlikely – according to the Bookmakers.
