This style of collar is called an l-shaped collar and I have indicated that it clean,
meanings that is has facing. Meaning that there is a part of it that is inside that
you do not see. That is what allows it to keep its shape. It retains shape and it lessens
the fraying on the fabric. But, you are wondering why is it called l-shaped. Where is the l?
Where do you think it is? Right there. That is the l-shaped. Not because, you could call
it a v-shaped, but in technical garmenty terms, then v-shaped is something different. So,
this right here gives you your l. But, this is all one connected piece. It is going to
be typically on a garment that does not fold over in the center because you want it to
fold over. It is kind off-center a little bit. I guess it could be whatever you want
it to be, but in my version, there is your l. And then, remember clean means it has a
facing.
