Mr. Brown, it appears to me that you're doing well in the program, that you're making positive efforts.
Well, it's been a relieving 24 hours for Chris Brown. Yeah, a judge has agreed that he doesn't
need to go to jail. LA Superior Court Judge James Brandlin said Brown should stay at a
treatment facility for substance abuse and anger management because he was doing well
in the court-ordered program.
I would remind you that any adverse conduct on your part in the program or elsewhere could
dramatically change your custodial status. Do you understand, sir?
Yes sir.
The judge sentenced Brown to 90 days in the treatment program in November following his
October assault arrest in Washington where he allegedly assaulted a man who tried to
photobomb him, something Chris has denied.
Brandlin also revoked Brown's probation from his 2009 assault on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
The probation remains revoked. That's the order.
Thank you.
The 24-year-old, was sporting a very different hairstyle to this court appearance, and was
accompanied by his mother Joyce and on-again girlfriend Karrueche Tran.
All in all, I think everybody around him is impressed with the amount of work that he's
put into this and the attitude that he's changed.
Chris is due back in court on February the 20th.
