Hi, my name is Caroline, and I'm here with Amanda at Encore Gymnastics, and we are going
to take you through the steps on how to do a cartwheel. We're going to always start by
stretching, so go ahead and have a seat in butterfly and reach out in front of you. This'll
stretch your leg muscles and a little bit of your back. Then, sit in a straddle. You
can stretch in the middle. This stretches your legs here and here. This is a very important
part of the cartwheel. This is the middle of the cartwheel. So, we're going to stretch
those muscles, and come on up. The first step in doing a cartwheel is starting in a lunge,
so arms up; nice big lunge. She's pushing forward through her hands. Her back leg is
straight. Her front leg is bent. The next step is to put your hands side by side, flat
on the ground right here, and upside down. A nice big straddle. Then, she's going to
set here legs down on the other side and finish. You want to make sure that you are looking
under your arm to watch your feet land, so we're going to do that again in slow motion;
lunge, hands are ready to go flat on the ground, looks under her arm, watches her foot land,
and finishes. Go ahead and do that on your own; lunge, straddle, finish. That's how to
do a cartwheel.
