Ask Japanese about Foreign Friends #1｜ 外国人の友達について聞いてみました

We have a friend from Vietnam. They asked "What's so fun about handheld fireworks?" I want to do a cultural exchange. I want them to teach me English. That would be cool. Hello I am Misato. That would be great but I can't speak English so we might not be able to talk. If they speak English, it sounds really cool right? If you made a friend from abroad, where would you like to take them to? -Harajuku, Shibuya and so on. -Why so? I like that area and a variety of people go there too. The ocean. I heard that the Japanese ocean is different. Sounds cool, right?! I have an acquaintance from Russia and a person from the US who came on an exchange and a good friend of mine is half Japanese and billingual. He is living in New York, and went there and got taken around there once. I don't really have any. Apart from foreigners who took the same course at university. We once did handheld fireworks. And I got asked "What's so fun about handheld fireworks?" I was like "Oh right." When they asked that, what did you think? You might be right. But I have been thinking since childhood that this is great so... It's good for what it is. I didn't say that at the time though. I said "It's just fun to do it like this." So we had a good time. -I have one. -Where did you meet them? In New Zealand. When I came back I had made some friends. What type of things do people do in New Zealand. Mainly sports. -Such as? I want to learn Hangul and be able to speak it. I have friends from Korea and China. Where did you meet? -Same elementary school. Korea. We went to the same elementary school. I don't have any. -Would you like to make foreign friends? -Of course I would! -Any particular reason? I want them to teach me English. At university I met an exchange student. We chatted several times. But we were more classmates than actual friends. Next week I have been invited to an international cultural exchange event. So I am hoping I can make some friends there. We don't meet much but I have a friend abroad. -We write each other from time to time. -How did you meet? My friend came over here when she was younger on an exchange. I know one person who has a foreign parent and a Japanese parent. I don't speak any English so my only foreign friend is that girl. I don't have any foreign friends. Would you like to make friends with foreigners? -Yes. I want to learn more about foreign cultures. Just by being together, I might be able to speak some English. I like African American music. So I would like to learn those dances. I once saw this dance, Salsa. A friend from Roppongi showed me how to dance it. That was so fun. I once went to an amusement park. I love Anime like One Piece and there were many cosplayers. I think if Japanese people cosplay Anime characters it is not quite spot on I think it would suit foreigners even better. I would like to see some foreign cosplayers. And then take them to a cosplay event? -I won't take part though. I just want to watch it. I have friends from Thailand and the Philippines. I have a friend from China. Where did you meet? They were friends of friends. They met on some kind of international forum and exchanged ideas.
