Ablevision Covers The Foogi 5k Haunt Jaunt!

This is Paul Hedison for the FOOGI 5K race in Malden. It's our 7th Annual Road Race, we try and promote some physical fitness, to the families to get out, make it fun, kids dress in costume and Friends of Oak Grove Inc. is a neighorhood, a non-profit group, and this is our biggest fundraiser that we have for the year so that it allows to do the improvements to our neighborhood, that we do. We did some stuff down at the park, we actually repaired the steps of this building, we have, you know some great events all during the year, but this is our most fun, and this is our fundraiser that allows us to do that. Every year we usually pick a cause or pick something and this year, Malden is in process setting up a teen center and FOOGI is hoping to help them out with some of their supplies and so the proceeds from this race are going to be go to them. What are you doing here today? Well, I came out here to tape this race for Malden Access Television, but most importantly, I tape it for the communities so they can look at it later. It's a great race, this is my 6th year doing it. I'm here supporting the Friends of Oak Grove Inc., who are making a difference here in Malden, and my costume today is called the grand opening. I have my scissors and my shovel and my citation. What costume are you wearing? I am a Francisican Monk today, it's great to run in. What's your costume? My costume is the Mad Hatter from Alice in Wonderland. What's your costume? My costume, I'm Sacagawea, and this is my war paint. Are you going to be in first place? You know what, I just want to finish today, first place isn't in my sight. Oh, I think they're getting ready for the race.
