This is the story of my life -- the story of how I became fabulous and green -- the story of how I bucked my “get a good job working for the government “ roots and the neurosis those roots engendered in me :) Finally, I AM happy to the bone, certain that I AM doing the right things for all of the right reasons, happy I have an amazing platform to document this segment of my journey and happy that you are here to be a witness!! The Story of My Life
Hi everyone; I'm Antoinette and this is the story of how I became fabulous and green.
I AM the only artsy child in a family and community of people who worked for the federal
government. When you grow up in the Washington, DC area,
the seat of power in the U.S., that’s what you do;
you ‘get a good job’ working for the government.
“But not me; I’ve always wanted to do something different – something creative…
and lucrative. Over the years, I tried every artsy career I could think of trying to find
that special thing I was born to do: dancer, model, make-up artist, hair stylist, salon
owner, interior designer. That stuff was fun, but it wasn’t fulfilling
and I didn’t see how I could get rich doing it.
Then I met a man who worked in corporate America and I decided I wanted to work regular hours
like everybody else, so I got my bachelor’s degree and tried creative business careers
like PR & marketing consultant and growth strategist.
Then I discovered I have a passion for green living, so I became a green living expert
and started speaking to corporate audiences and making green living videos…right here
on youtube. I felt like I was getting warm, but I also
wanted to be rich, and try as I might, I could not figure out how to get rich by being green.
I kept thinking “***, I’m a smart girl; what am I missing?”
I always say, “to keep up, you need the right answers but to get ahead, you have to
ask the right questions.”
And the question I asked that helped me finally crack the code was “how does the universe
really work?” [hl]Then cut to me closing the book and talking
The short answer is do what you came here to do: follow your heart’s desire
– find your mission in life and work it – w-e-r-k -- and the universe will blast
you up to amazing new heights…but that’s the really short answer.
You have to be ambitious enough to keep trying first one thing and then another until you
crack the code… and for me Fabulous and Green is the code.
My mission in life is to influence millions of people to live a greener lifestyle, and
to do that, I have to propel myself onto TV as host of
my own show.
I created this channel to spread the idea that you can live a life that’s fabulous
and green. You’ll notice my emphasis here is on being fabulous, which really starts
on the inside and radiates outward.
Being eco-friendly is part of my DNA and it definitely influences my lifestyle choices
but if you take all of my videos and pictures as a complete body of work, I think you’ll
see that my perspective, my ideas and my goals are pretty edgy and getting more so every
day. I’m creating a playlist of my dream TV and movie roles all of which are a little
part of me coming to the surface in a badass, in-your-face, fabulous kind of way.
In fact, rule #4 of my Rules for Living Fabulously is Be willing to take risks to fulfill your
heart’s desire even though you also risk failure, so hopefully you’ll be inspired
to unleash your fabulosity as you watch me unleash mine
As you watch more, you’ll hear two things I always say:
1. I’m a lot of things. 2. I can show you better than I can tell you.
So hopefully between this channel and my Instagram account, you’ll see that I shatter the myth
that being green is a tree-hugger affair, because it’s definitely not.
