CES EduPack is a unique resource for teaching materials and process-related courses.
In this video tutorial, we will look at the software interface and introduce the Select
tool that allows creating graphs and selection projects.
When we open CES EduPack, we are presented with a start screen.
From here, we can select the most appropriate Database for our project.
The introductory databases containing Level 1 and Level 2 are here on the left are they
are available in different languages according to your installation.
The most advanced databases, covered in other video tutorials, are here on the right.
In this video, we are going to look at the introductory databases Level 1 and Level 2.
So let’s start by opening Level 1, by simply clicking on the Level 1 tile.
Select is located next to Search, here, on the main toolbar. Click on it to open the
tool, here in the left panel.
Select is one of the three main tools in CES EduPack. It allows creating materials and
processes selection project using Graph, Limit and Tree Stages.
The Selection project includes 3 parts. The first part allows you to select the Database
you want to use. Here Level 1 is selected. You can change this using the Change button
here. You then need to select from the different
Datatables available here. For example, here, I will choose Material Universe.
We can now proceed to the second part; the selection stages.
Here you can choose to select via Graph, Limit and/or Tree Stages. These selection stages
are introduced in following video tutorials.
The third and final part simply displays your results.
In following video tutorials, you can see how to use the Graph, Limit and Tree Selection
Stages as well as the other tools available in CES EduPack.
You can learn how to apply a structured methodology to compare materials and processes and select
them for engineering applications, creating and using materials selection charts.
