A simulation... Professional.
Can I get some more low frequencies here?
Let's go, this one is for real. Can we time it, Vini?
Are you ready?
We're bringing up the piano, today is Sunday.
Piano... I almost died... But it's here.
Since Dani's music is very urban, and the lyrics refer a lot to the city, urban and personal relations,
And we always wanted to make a DVD in a different location,
We chose to do it on the top floor of a building, downtown.
"Viadutos" (road bridges) is not just the name of the building.
"Viadutos" are connections between people, between their music,
between peoples' lives in the city...
That's what I want my music to do.
And this one was different right from the beginning.
The lighting, the scene,
With this emphasis on having the esthetics of a movie.
I believe that this freedom, being able to think cinematographically,
Benefited a lot from the choice of the location.
Being in Viadutos building, a landmark of Sao Paulo's architecture.
With a privileged view of the city.
That has, let's say, this live panel of the city.
Tattooed, stamped, I mean, through those enormous windows.
They wanted to do something different.
That wouldn't be just a DVD... Just recording a concert.
It would be a different experience for those who are watching. And for those who are making it, too.
When we went up there, and got to see the place, it was hard to imagine that it could be done anywhere else.
I was sure that something interesting, crazy and magic was going to happen here.
It was a challenge for us, beacause the location was difficult for itself.
Especially regarding the piano, how we would work with it,
it has a lot of ambience, it's a totally live room, filled with glass windows.
So we improvised a little...
A little tape, foam...
So we taped the mic to the piano lid.
And tied the mic to the acoustic bass.
So we came up with a setting for the microphones, that is absolutely "ours"... and the result was excellent.
I believe it was more pleasant to work because of how I and Maria Fernanda shared.
So she told me: "Jô, at Viadutos we can see the colors blue, red and yellow.
So I said "Look, let's think about the significance of these colors".
So I thought it would be nice to put Dani in purple, which is the color that represents knowledge.
Because the actual scenery was the city of São Paulo and the architecture.
We put all of it together. There was only the scenery to begin with.
I had to create, from scratch, a whole structure for lighting.
And there's no structure at Viadutos...
The funny thing is... We brought a lot of pipes, structures, we put 40 lampheads in there...
But one of the moments that I find the most beautiful
is when it blacks out and we can only see the musicians' silhouette with the city.
