What a show! Oh, you're already here!
"Brave-ish heart" is over, it's time to react "A Chaud"! (Instantly)
April wants to kill Corakinus and ends up in the Underneath with Ram
while the others fight against the petals' invasion of Earth.
The episode has a good start.
It begins with twenty breathless minutes during which we follow the two groups.
During these 20 minutes, actions and thoughts fit well.
In the Underneath, Ram and April swap a bit of their personalities.
Ram is frightened and needs protection, while April rushes in.
Miss Quill gets completely flustered.
We also see the parents' incomprehension.
Charlie is overwhelm by his responsibilities.
And the headmaster double dealing is well played.
So nothing to reproach to the character development.
We learn lots of consistent things.
But after 20 minutes... Everthing goes wrong.
They take all the good of the beginning and stretch it, and stretch it, and stretch it...
Everything drowns in constant and boring rabbiting,
because predictable or mushy.
The hole thing tries to build up something about the Cabinet, but it doesn't work.
We easily guess that such a powerful and important object will not be used that early in the series
and Mateusz's text in the middle of the episode spoils the conclusion.
April and Corakinus' fight is super badass
but suddenly becomes long, verbose and extremely ridiculous.
Because, for me, the Shadow Kin around aren't an army but some dudes watching a show.
Add a pinch of easy writing and hop!
You kill an episode which had a pretty good start!
The petals, which looked like an awesome and gory thing,
are nothing more than what we saw in last week teaser.
We hardly feel the menace that is supposed to threaten human kind.
Only replacing some scenes in Charlie's place
by petals' attacks scenes
would have make them more important and powerful.
So it's a good story which follows the series main storyline,
but it doesn't offset the disappointment we feel while watching this episode.
Kisses Zarbis, and see you next week!
