This is Steve “The Dragon” Jimenez along with Heath Jones. In this segment we are going
to go over on edge weapon. Now in our combat as there is also in our self defense there
is what we call a 360 defense. 360 defense are blocks for unorthodox swings or punches
may be a swing with an edge weapon or a swing with a blunt object. So from here we use defenses
here and here and now here as well. So coming straight down or coming straight up or over
the top. The person can have a knife behind is back and I have no idea this gentleman
has a knife and I was just standing here, “you know just kind of take it easy.”
I don’t want any problems here, I just want to go home to my family and the attack comes
from here boom! straight up I am going to make a defense. I don’t know what he has
in his hands. I am going to make the exact same defense. Think about a knife. The knife
attack is a crime of passion this is why you never hear of anybody of dying or being attacked
with one stab. You have multiple hundreds of stabs 50, 40, 200 stabs and the person
is dead. So it’s a crime of passion. So when this gentleman comes in with the weapon
the attacker he is not going to come in with just one and then he is going to come in attacking.
So we have to attack the attack when it comes so this defense is here. So when we attack
the attack I come here boom! I catch him at his weakest point right here. Notice how my
hand will run through his face here. So I am coming here with the counter attack at
the exact same time, so nice and slow coming in (boom) right to the face here and making
a solid defense. My elbow needs to be in a 90 degree position. If I am extended out like
this he is going to come down and fillet me. If I am inside here, weak on the inside he
is going to come down and stab me in the hand. I want to make a a good 90 degree defense
I am attacking wrist to wrist. I am hitting his wrist trying to break his wrist. I want
to hit him so hard and if the knife pops out that would be good thing for me. Here is the
strike from here he is at his weakest right here. I am going to come back driving the
hand back down to the back pocket right here. Real nice slow control. I am going to come
right here, driving knees, knees, groin kick, soften him a little bit more and if he still
has the weapon and it is still in his hand. I am going to take a step back, bringing the
weapon towards me coming up breaking the wrist coming straight down, raking the weapon out,
now its mine right here.
