Before you begin always start a new session
Do this by selecting FILE then NEW.
Ensure the settings are correct for your project.
As follows: Sample Rate 48,000 Mono Channels and 16 bit Resolution.
Click OK to confirm.
You need to import your audio clips. Click on the IMPORT FILE icon or go to FILE then IMPORT.
Navigate to the folder in which your audio clips are saved
Highlight all of the clips required by pressing CONTROL and clicking on the clips.
Click OPEN.
Your clips will then appear left hand side of the edit window.
To switch between Single and Multi-Track editing modes click on the editing tabs along the top of the editing window.
This can also be done by clicking on the icons in the top left hand corner of the screen.
In Multi-track mode, you can move audio clips by simply dragging and dropping.
Keep all of your links, clips, music and sound effects on separate tracks.
Move your clip by clicking on it once. Holding the RIGHT mouse button down, drag the clip.
To deselect a clip, click anywhere outside of it.
Move multiple clips around in the same way. Press CONTROL on the keyboard and click on the clips.
Holding the right mouse button down and dragging will move all highlighted clips.
To edit an individual audio clip, double clicking on it will take you to the single track editing mode.
Edit the clip as explained in the single track editing chapter of this video.
Click on the SAVE THE WAVEFORM button.
Click on the Multi-track view tab. The clip you have just edited will automatically be updated.
To add fades and dip points you go to VIEW, and ensure SHOW VOLUME is selected and SHOW PAN ENVELOPES is deselected.
Click on the clip you wish to adjust.
Click on the white line in the clip to add volume points.
Drag these points up and down to adjust the volume and create fades and dips.
You can remove them by dragging down to the bottom of the clip and releasing the mouse button.
To save your finished piece select EDIT…
To save your finished piece select EDIT…
…select MIX DOWN TO FILE, then ALL AUDIO CLIPS in MONO.
This will give you a final mixed audio piece.
Save this in the usual way. Go to FILE, then SAVE AS.
Give your file a name and save it as an MP3.
Click SAVE.
Then select MIX DOWN TO FILE, then ALL AUDIO CLIPS in MONO.
