Madison: Hey y'all, I'm Madison Shelby: I'm Shelby
Both: Welcome to our humble... *laughs*
Shelby: One of the great things about living in the Hill Community is that
we have our own sink. You never know how much you need one until you have to walk down the hall to actually brush your teeth.
But we also have this handy dandy little storage unit right here behind our mirror where we put, like, medicines, toothbrush, stuff like that.
And speaking of storage, Madison. Madison: We have
storage in our room. There's huge space up here above our desk. We even have a place we put our T.V. right here, so
when you get on your bed you can just watch T.V. whenever you want to.
And then here's my desk right here. There's
still backboard where I've put some... It's a bulletin board so you can put whatever you want to
up there. We do our studying and all that. And then, my favorite part because I love clothes
is the closet. We have cute little curtains,
but there's plenty of room in them. I put my whole closet in here and I have so many clothes, it's ridiculous. They're perfect.
Shelby: And these lovely curtains were made by my stepmom Madison: Go stepmom!
Shelby: and we have some to cover our windows as well to match. And what's really cool
is that we actually didn't talk much about how to decorate our room, we just kind of decided on colors and when we got here
it all just went so well together because we're cool like that.
We've actually already started decorating for Halloween as well, as you saw on the door.
Ghost here
hung by some command strips
And this is actually my desk, we have these
really great lights underneath and then we've also put our own little
lamps in
and we've just decorated it to fit our personalities.
Shelby: One of the best parts about living in Mell is how close it is to campus and if you look right outside our window you can actually see the
lights and stadium and the MLC
where we do all of our studying and, you can't see it, but
Bolton, the new Bolton, is being built right past Lipscomb and it's going to be great living so close
to such a good dining hall area.
Speaking of food, next we have our little kitchen area,
Mell has one kitchen downstairs for the whole dorm, but
having a refrigerator and a microwave are just convenient for snacks or Sunday nights when you aren't on meal plan.
Shelby: And we also have these great little storage nooks that you can find at Target and Wal-Mart or some place like that, with these really awesome little bins in it
And we just kind of put like paper towels, and forks, and bowls and stuff like that Madison: any supplies
Shelby: and we can store some clothes in there as well
and we have actually this hidden little
square back here
where our vacuum fits perfectly
Madison: good for cleaning!
Next, this is our little futon lounge area
where we sit and do homework, watch T.V., just kind of relax after a long day at school.
We did a little bit of decorating, just some DIY little picture frames with cute fabric in it. And then, we put lamps in
to make sure it's really nice and bright. And then we have a little storage unit right here that's just
an old basket that we got and it's got plenty of room. Shelby: For more storage,
cleaning stuff in it right now, Swiffer. Madison: You can never have too much
storage, we even have some under the couch. Perfect
place to put tiny
boxes for anything you need.
Madison: My favorite part of the room is the bed, because it's where sleep happens, and you need sleep
It's vital! It's perfect. Shelby: This is my bed
the blues and the greens.
Madison: but now it's time for our nap, so you have to go
thanks for looking at our room, I hope you liked it. Both: Bye!
