Hello, this is Bruno Lesteven I am a handwoven artisan and I work in Brittany
In my opinion, hemp is the most ecological fiber ever As it hardly needs pesticides to be grown
Just sunlight is enough
Hemp grows everywhere Even in places with no fertile soil
In addition, plants can grow very high And it is less demanding than wool overall
Therefore I think it is absolutely a wonderful plant, very interesting
At the second place there is organic cotton Still it is an exotic fiber
With some related issues, like for example the abundant use of water
Secondly, the issue of exploitation of the Southern countries
It should be fair-trade cotton, but transparency is not guaranteed in this sort of things and eventually you never know
Hemp is also edible! It is possible to have flour out of its grains
Or to make hemp oil, or even to eat the grains as appetizer
