My favorite part was just being able to be around people who were in the same situation
I was in as an FPF and getting to know the people that I'll be spending the first semester with,
and having an opportunity to really transition before it all happens.
Learning all the different cheers and getting involved in Cal spirit.
All the resources that I learned. They took us around the library, took us around the Student Learning Center, we
knew exactly what we need for preparation for our freshmen year, so I'm so excited for that.
It was the resource tour where I got to see the libraries and how many opportunities there are to excel
at Cal, despite the fact that it's more rigorous than high school.
Watching the Math 1B lecture that was given at the FPF building. It was really awesome because it's actually like
a real taste of Cal and I really got to understand that this is kind of what I'll be doing for the next four years.
We had a really good group of people and really deep discussions as we met each other. We really feel comfortable
coming to the next fall term, knowing who we'll be talking with and who our classmates will be.
The First Year Experiences and some of their highlights and some of their challenges, and how they overcame them.
I really learned that we all experience the same things, we all experience difficulties,
but as a student body, we can overcome them.
Definitely listening to the First Year Experiences after dinner. Just hearing the CalSO leaders open up to us --
it was really fun, and I felt like I was able to make personal connections with each one of them.
And laugh with them and hear their stories.
The Bear Territory experience. Coming into this school, I was a bit afraid of the amount of diversity there would be,
but it was nice to see the kind of common ground we all had, and the same kind of fears that we had coming here,
and bonding like a community to stand.
The most useful thing I learned was knowing all the places to go eat out on Telegraph, which has the best deals.
Knowing all the best places to eat around here.
The friends that I made here in a matter of a day and a half, honestly, changed my life. These guys are really
cool. It's nice to be here. It's great city, great campus. Happy to be here.
Being able to go to the different Options, like the Financial Aid, and Hire Me Please. I feel like
that was probably the most useful because we got to go to the things we were actually interested in.
Just how we got to experience actually living with roommates for the first time and actually kind
of seeing what our rooms are going to be like. I got Unit 3 and that's where I stayed, so
I know what to expect now. It's a lot better.
I've only been here a couple times, so the tour was really cool. Finding out where everything is so
I don't look like the classic freshman on the first day, being lost, so for me that was really helpful.
I definitely loved the Closing ceremony with the Cal band and everything. That definitely felt like a community.
And the parents who were involved that also knew the cheers. It really tied everything together
and made CalSO the perfect orientation.
Oh, anytime?
