>>Dr. Fisher: Good afternoon.
I'm Doctor Victor Fisher, a professor in the Department of
Sociology, Anthropology and Criminal Justice.
As Grand Marshal, it is my pleasure to welcome you to the
winter commencement exercises for the College of Fine Arts and
Communications, the College of Liberal Arts, and the Fisher
College of Science and Mathematics.
I would like to introduce Doctor Maravene Loeschke, the 13th
President of Towson University.
Madam President, the University community is assembled for
commencement.
>>President Loeschke: Good afternoon, everyone.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: I welcome you to the 148th commencement of
this proud history of this wonderful University.
This is an especially important ceremony today because ever
since 1976, all commencements have been held in this very
room, and this is the last one, because in May we'll be in the
new arena.
So always remember that you closed out the commencements in
this space where so many people have gone before you.
Today, we celebrate you as our newest graduates and your
significant academic achievements.
It has truly been our pleasure to guide and mentor you and
watch this transformation.
We want you to think about the very first time on campus,
orientation, the first class you went to, the dreams you had,
what you thought this journey was going to be like, and now,
here you are.
It is indeed one of the most important days of your life.
Now, so that we may get started, please stand for our
National Anthem.
We will be led in the singing by Ms. Amelia Elson who is
receiving a Bachelor of Music, and gentlemen please
remove your hats.
>>: NATIONAL ANTHEM (performed by Ms. Amelia Elson)
>>: APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: At this time, I would also like to pause
for a moment of silence in honor of the faculty, staff, and
students who have passed away during this year.
The faculty and staff we have lost are Penny Shiefen-Simpson,
Billy Hauserman, Nancy Marvel, Paul Poman, Dorothy Siegel, and
Donald Windler.
The students we have lost are Martin Kaufman, Matthew
Cheswick, Alan Daschle, Brendan Huber, Jessica O'Shaughnessy,
and Kara Becker.
A moment of silence please.
>>: MOMENT OF SILENCE
>>President Loeschke: Thank you, and everyone may be seated.
The flags on display represent the 17 countries -- the 70
international students graduating from Towson
this winter.
Seventy. Also
on stage are flags representing the 77 nations of
our current international population of 533 students.
We are very pleased to have each and every one of you in the
Towson family.
As you can see, an education at Towson University serves our
region and the state, but also reaches across the nation and
around the world.
Now, in addition to our international flags displayed
today, you will notice a number of graduates and faculty and
staff wearing black and gold pins, signifying their support
of the Tiger Commencement Pledge.
This pledge is a voluntary commitment to become more active
in communities and to work for positive change in social and
environmental conditions.
We applaud your efforts for this work.
And now I call upon Brandy Hall, our superb president of the
Student Government Association, to introduce representatives
from the University's boards.
Brandy.
>>Brandy Hall: Good afternoon.
We are pleased today to be joined by a representative of
the University System of Maryland and Board of Regents,
Doctor Paul Vance.
This 17 member board is appointed by the governor to
appoint the University System of Maryland Chancellor and the 12
University presidents, as well as formulating policies and
overseeing the academic, administrative, and financial
operation system institutions.
Doctor Vance brings more than 30 years of experience in higher
education to the Board of Regents, including his 10 years
as Superintendent of Schools to Montgomery County Public
Schools, the District of Columbia Public School System,
and Deputy Superintendent for Baltimore City Public Schools.
He is the recipient of numerous awards, including the Lifetime
Achievement Award and the Hall of Fame induction from the
National Association of Black School Educators.
Please give a warm welcome to Regent Paul Vance.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>Dr. Vance: Thank you
ever so much for that very warm introduction.
I am delighted to join you and extend best wishes from the
University System of Maryland on behalf of the Board of Regents
on this tremendous occasion.
It is an honor to share this occasion with your President,
Maravene Loeschke, who is doing a tremendous job leading
Towson University.
Under her leadership, Towson is expanding its role as a regional
leader both economically and culturally, making Towson
University a vibrant hub for the entire Greater Baltimore
community. Towson
Metropolitans, Maryland's Metropolitan University, is
clearly an institution of choice for many of Maryland's brightest
students.
I know that even greater strides remain in this area.
Most importantly, it is an honor to be here to recognize and
congratulate you, the members of the graduating class.
What you have accomplished has taken hard work, persistence,
and dedication.
Today, we celebrate the completeness of your journey.
I know your family and friends take a good deal of pride in
what you have accomplished.
They are shared in your sacrifice and certainly should
share in your success today.
No matter what direction your life now takes, no matter what
challenges you will confront, know that your education here
has prepared you well.
Towson also takes justifiable pride in serving as an integral
part of the social, cultural, and intellectual life of the
community.
The ethic of service runs deep within the Towson community and
I hope you will continue to honor that tradition.
Once again, congratulations to all of you and know that the
entire University System of Maryland family wishes you all
the best in the years to come.
Thank you.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>Brandy Hall: Thank you, Doctor Vance.
This afternoon, we are pleased to have several members of the
University's Board of Visitors.
Joining us today are Ms. Myrna Cardin, Mr. Ted Zaleski, and
Doctor Nancy Grasmick, who will bring congratulations and
greetings on behalf of the Board of Visitors.
The board serves as the President's advisor group of the
area's top professionals.
A Towson alum, Doctor Nancy Grasmick is known
internationally for her visionary leadership as the
former State Superintendent of Maryland Public Schools, which
under her leadership, ranked number one in the nation four
years in a row.
Last spring, President Loeschke named her Towson's first ever
Presidential Scholar for Innovation in Teacher and
Leadership Preparation to help guide the institution's historic
teacher education programs to national prominence.
She has served on Towson University Board of Visitors
since 2005 and will bring greetings and congratulations
today, on behalf of the board.
Please give a warm welcome to Doctor Nancy Grasmick.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>Dr. Grasmick: Thank you,
Brandy, for such a kind introduction.
Good afternoon, President Loeschke, Interim Provost
DiLisio, distinguished guests, honored families, and faculty,
and the graduates themselves.
On behalf of the President's advisory group, known as the
Board of Visitors, I bring you greetings and congratulations on
this significant accomplishment.
It is our pleasure and pride to see you graduate today, and as
you become part of a prestigious legacy of scholarship, personal
excellence, and public service.
Before today, you may have thought of the Board of Visitors
as people who have incredible stories of success that they
share with the President.
But in fact, the diverse backgrounds and experiences of
the board membership are what makes us valuable advisors to
the President.
Currently, the board is comprised of an architect, a
professional dancer, a student, a faculty member, a former State
Superintendent, a community leader, a realtor, and several
business executives.
With all of those differences, we are all identical in one way,
and that is our passion and our commitment to advance this
University.
Each of you also hold within you a unique story of success.
Your story may have a humble beginning, a stroke of luck, a
triumph over adversity, or your story may still be in the
making.
No matter your story and all of its twists and turns, never
underestimate its potential to inspire or help others.
So as Towson graduates, when you are called upon to share your
leadership and expertise in any capacity, embrace the
opportunity to serve, but also be prepared to learn.
Whether you view today as a milestone or a capstone in your
educational journey, it is indisputable that significantly
more opportunities now lie ahead of you.
As Towson graduates, you now hold an important responsibility
to be good stewards of your education and use it to make a
difference in the world.
On behalf of the Board of Visitors, I once again offer our
sincerest congratulations to you.
Wherever life takes you from here, continue to seek out
opportunities to lead, serve, and learn.
Thank you and congratulations.
>>: APPLAUSE
>> Brandy Hall: Thank you, Doctor Grasmick.
We are also fortunate this afternoon to welcome Mr. Keith
Ewancio, the secretary of Towson University's Alumni Association,
who will bring words of welcome and congratulations to our new
graduates.
Please give a warm welcome for Mr. Ewancio.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>Mr. Ewancio: Thank you
very much, Brandy, and good afternoon to
all the members of the Class of 2012 and your guests.
As a member of the Executive Committee with the Alumni
Association Board of Directors, a proud member of the class of
1994, and a 2007 graduate of the Human Resource Development
Master's track program from the College of Liberal Arts, I am
honored to be here today to represent the more than 133,000
alumni who have graduated from this remarkable institution.
Each of these alumni has a story to tell about the success that
they have achieved as a result of their education at Towson.
My own story would not have been possible without the education,
experiences, and connections that I made here in Towson.
You too will have a great story to tell, one that you will be
proud to share with future generations of Towson graduates.
Your story actually starts today, as you join 2,170 fellow
graduates that make up the Class of 2012.
Today, 1,523 of you are receiving a Bachelor's degree,
635 of you are receiving a Master's degree or certificate,
and 12 of you are receiving a Doctoral degree from
Towson University.
Your class is actually 63% female and 37% male.
The average age of undergraduate students in this year's
graduating class is 24 and of graduate students is 32.
The youngest graduate in the Class of 2012 is Oluwadamilaire
Oluwafemi Ajayi, who is receiving a Bachelor's degree in
Biology and Chemistry at the age of 20, and I think they might
just be in the audience right now, so congratulations.
And our most seasoned graduate is Dominic Mezzanotte, who, at
the age of 71, is receiving his Doctoral Science degree in
Informational Technology.
Now, I think it's important for me to add that actually now,
Doctor Mezzanotte, is now a 3 time Towson graduate, having
earned his Bachelor of Science in music in 1996 and his Master
of Music in 1999.
So congratulations to you and to both of you.
>>: APPLAUSE
>> Mr. Ewancio: The Class of 2012 represents 20 out of our 50
states, with Pennsylvania and New York having the largest
number of graduates outside of the state of Maryland.
And just for the record, 61 of you come from New York, but 135
of you come from Pennsylvania.
>>: LIGHT CHEERING
>>Mr. Ewancio: That must be the Pennsylvania people by the way
>>: LAUGHTER
>>Mr. Ewancio: Seven of you are actually the sole
representatives from your home states.
For those of you receiving your Master's or Doctoral degree
today, we know that over 8% of you, just like me, also received
your Bachelor's degree from Towson University.
So a congratulations is in order to all of you.
We also know that this class was very engaged and active, as a
majority of current seniors and graduate students participated
in either an internship or experiential learning project
this past semester alone.
Additionally, members of this graduating class were involved
in intercollegiate athletics and a variety of
co-curricular activities.
All of this while having an average class GPA of 3.27.
Well done to all of you.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>Mr. Ewancio: We also know that most of you will stay right here
in the state of Maryland after graduation because, on average,
73% of TU alumni call Maryland home.
Perhaps you will be one of the 6,000 alumni who marry a fellow
Towson alum or that you will become one of over 1,000 alumni
who actually come back to their alma mater in either a faculty
or staff position.
Today, you become the newest faces of the Towson University
Alumni Association.
We are educators, doctors, actors, business leaders,
lawyers, computer analysts, scientists, politicians,
healthcare providers, human resource managers, and much
more.
Towson University alumni live in every state from California to
New York and Pennsylvania, and 79 countries from China to
France and everywhere in between.
So on behalf of the thousands of alumni who have preceded you, it
is my privilege to congratulate you on your outstanding
achievements.
The rest of your story is yet to be told.
In the months and years ahead, please be sure to share your
story with us as you make your special mark as a Towson
University alumnus.
Congratulations, once again, on this very special day.
Thank you all.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Now, if we may have the lights up for just
a moment, because speaking of alumni, I would like to ask all
of the parents and grandparents in the audience of our
graduates, who are indeed Towson alumni, please stand and let us
see how this goes on from generation to generation.
Parents and grandparents in the audience who are alums--look at
that number, that's amazing.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: And now all alumni, including in the
faculty, please stand up and everyone look at this group.
It's wonderful.
Congratulations everybody, and thank you.
I now call upon Brandy Hall to introduce our first student
speaker.
Brandy.
>>Brandy Hall: Madame President, ladies and gentlemen, it is now
my pleasure to introduce our undergraduate speaker -- Miss
Derica Dowd.
Miss Dowd is graduating today from the College of Liberal
Arts, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology.
After attending Community College of Baltimore County and
earning her Associate's Degree, she transferred to Towson
University in the fall of 2010.
Since beginning at Towson, Miss Dowd has made her education
career and has been on the Dean's List for consecutive
semesters, four actually.
After graduating, she hopes to return to Towson to obtain her
Graduate degree.
She also plans to work with middle school and elementary
school-aged children as a guidance counselor.
Let's all please give a warm welcome to Miss Derica Dowd.
>> APPLAUSE
>>Miss Dowd: Thank you Brandy Hall, our SGA President for that introduction.
Good morning, President Loeschke, distinguished guests,
honored faculty, family and fellow graduates.
Thank you for being here and sharing this great
accomplishment with us.
I would also like to thank my family, my mom, and my
grandparents for helping me get here today.
My journey to TU was quite different than some of the other
graduates here.
I began my college education at CCBC but I always wanted to
attend Towson University.
Once I completed my Associate's degree, I promptly applied to TU
and was accepted.
Before I actually began at Towson, I thought it would be a
very difficult transition.
I was afraid that I would get lost in the shuffle and that the
classes would be huge with one professor for hundreds of
students.
On my first day, I was so pleasantly surprised.
Some of my classes did have 70 students, but others had less
than 30.
By the end of my first month, every professor knew my name.
Adjusting to the new environment was made so much easier by the
great professors that helped me along the way.
Doctor Paz Galupo and Dr. Maria Fracasso were truly invested in
my success in their classes, as well as at TU altogether.
Thank you both so much for helping me set the course for
the rest of my career at Towson.
I've learned so much from you, as well as my other professors.
I was challenged and pushed the whole way, and that made me a
better student.
Not only did I learn from my professors, but I also gained
valuable knowledge from the diverse perspectives of my
fellow students.
Once I got adjusted to life at TU, I had a
wonderful experience.
From the great classroom experiences, to attending
football games, to having a relaxing lunch at Paws, I fell
in love with the atmosphere at Towson.
In fact, I loved it so much, that I convinced my best friend
to transfer to TU after completing her AA in community
college. Two
more of my friends will be joining her in their TU careers
in the spring.
After graduation, I plan to start applying to graduate
schools and hopefully I will return to TU to continue working
with the professors that got me to this point.
Once I receive a Graduate degree, I aspire to work with
and counsel elementary and middle school-aged children.
I hope to make a difference in a few young lives and help them
realize their dreams as I'm now realizing mine.
My experience at Towson University was amazing.
I am leaving with more knowledge and more confidence in myself
than I ever imagined.
My advice to anyone who is thinking about transferring to
TU from community college or attending, period, is to go for
it. You will
become a better and more well rounded version of
yourself. Thank you.
>>:APPLAUSE
>>Lisa Jackson: Thank you, Miss Dowd.
Good afternoon.
I am Lisa Jackson, the President of the Graduate Student
Association. Madam
President, ladies and gentlemen, it is now my pleasure
to introduce Mr. Andrew Schoenfeld, who is graduating
from the College of Fine Arts in Communication with a Masters of
Fine Arts in Studio Art, specializing in photography and
digital imaging.
Mr. Shoenfeld is graduating today from the College of Fine
Arts in Communication with a Master of Fine Arts degree in
Studio Art, specializing in photography and digital imagery.
Mr. Shoenfeld earned his Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art
from the University of Maryland, Baltimore County in 2007, his
Master of Art in digital art from the Maryland Institute
College of Art in 2008, and an Associate's degree in
professional cooking and baking from Baltimore International
College in 2009.
During his time at Towson, he was granted a graduate
assistantship to serve as a on-campus dark room manager, and
was also hired as an adjunct professor to teach Art 258,
Photo Imaging Digital One in fall 2011 and fall of 2012.
For his thesis, he traveled from coast to coast, capturing
thousands of images to construct a series of photographs of our
potential future, entitled "New Worlds."
He is currently in the process of becoming an officer in the
United States Marine Corps.
Please welcome Mr. Andrew Schoenfeld.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>Mr. Shoenfeld: Hi.
I want a second to take this all in.
Thank you, Lisa Jackson, our GSA President, for that lovely
introduction.
Good afternoon, President Loeschke, distinguished guests,
honored faculty, family, and fellow graduates.
I'm extremely honored to be standing here on this stage
today, but I am especially humbled to share this day with
my peers, Towson University's graduating class of the
fall 2012.
As many of you have gathered from that introduction, this is
actually my fourth graduation ceremony.
So, by rough calculation, at the end of today I will have spent
roughly 10 hours or so graduating.
So, coming up with something fresh to say was a
bit of a challenge.
I started by reflecting on my time spent as a grad student
here at Towson, and I asked myself, what seemed like the
most obvious question, which is why am I here?
And really, why are we all here?
Of course, there was no singular reason, some of us come straight
from undergrad or high school, some of us have been out in the
real world and have families or jobs of our own.
We are all in search of different things, as well.
Maybe it's the next step, or maybe it's so that we can get a
job or move up in our current jobs, and probably at least in
part, so we can pay back student loans and get some -- get paid
well, right?
This community to its own benefit is incredibly diverse.
I do believe that there is at least one thing we all share
thought, and that is the desire to better ourselves.
That is why we are here.
The desire we have to continually push one another to
become a stronger and wiser individual than we were before.
With both undergraduate and graduate degrees, from UMBC,
MICA, and BIC, I could say with sincerity, I couldn't be more
pleased with the education and opportunities that have been
provided to me here at Towson during my tenure.
While the academics obviously helped me grow, I did the
majority of my learning from within this Towson community
that you see before you in this room.
Working daily with my fellow grads who challenged me in my
work, improving my artistic voice, developing a close
relationship with my faculty who guided me and deepened my
ability to think diligently.
And of course, my time spent with undergrads, many of whom
are in this very room today.
As a friend, a mentor, and even as an adjunct professor for some
of them, which has only strengthened my thirst for
leadership and my passion for knowledge.
Over my time here, I've probably became a member of the Towson
family and I hope that most of you graduates were able to
experience any bit of what I just described today.
So here we are, we share one last moment at Towson together,
and that's this moment, the moment of where do we go
from here?
The time when we get to go forth and use our education, skills,
and life experiences to make a difference in our world.
And I have no doubt that you will make this impact, and this
is now our responsibility as members of higher education.
My personal journey is taking me into the United States Marine
Corps with the hope of eventually becoming an officer.
In doing so, I am making a commitment to lead others by my
example, making a commitment to use my specific abilities, many
of which were refined here by this Towson family, to act with
honor and diligence in the service of our country.
And I'm making a commitment to always aim to better myself
daily with each new experience, mission, or challenge.
Today, the world has grown stronger and more knowledgeable
through all of the graduates you see before you.
And I want to take a moment to recognize each and every one of
you, my fellow graduates, for your part in my education,
making me a better artist, individual, and leader.
In the Marine Corps during PT, physical training, or during
evaluations, we don't look to our sergeants or our staff
sergeants, or our Lieutenants or our Captains, we look to our
left and to our right, in front of us and behind us, and we yell
"MOTIVATE!"
because we understand that it's those around you, your peers,
your communal brothers and sisters, who push you and bring
out the best in you.
So never stop influencing those around you, graduates, and thank
you for motivating me, for motivating all of us here to
strive for more.
HOORAH!
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Thank you, Mr. Schoenfeld.
Commencement is one of the happiest days of the year here
at Towson.
And there are many here today who share your accomplishments.
There is, in particular, one very special group whose
contributions deserve full attention right now.
We have one of the finest graduating classes in Maryland
because we have one of the finest faculty assembled
anywhere. Will
the faculty of the University please rise so the
students can show you their gratitude?
Please rise.
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Also joining me on stage today are
leaders of the University, those responsible for facilitating our
academic and student programs, and who through their dedication
and expertise enabled the success of all of you.
Now, you may not see each of them every day, as you do often
faculty and staff, but I can assure you that each and every
day they are dedicated to your success.
So I'm going to ask these individuals to stand, and we
will hold all of the applause until the end, and we'll do them
by category.
So we're going to begin with the Vice Presidents of the
University, please stand.
The Director of University Marketing.
The Deans of the Colleges and the Dean of University
Libraries.
The Associate Deans of the College's.
Members of the Board of Visitors.
The Board of Regents.
The Alumni Association.
The University Senate.
The American Association of University Professors.
The Towson University Staff Council, and members of the
Student Government Association and the Graduate Student
Association.
Now, what a group working for your success.
Let's thank them.
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: I'd also like to thank the faculty
members who were serving as Faculty Marshals and Student
Marshals and readers for this ceremony.
In addition to the faculty, there are over 100 people who
have worked on this particular ceremony: The Commencement
Committee, the University Store, Student's Auxiliary Services,
facilities, police, bus drivers, food staff, custodians,
photographers, event staff, parking, and lots of volunteers.
Please, let's thank them.
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Now, may we have the lights up again please.
Graduates, you've had a lot of support on this journey, so
we're going to recognize some of those special people in your
lives who have helped you to get here.
So first of all, we're going to ask all of the mothers and
fathers of the graduates, please stand.
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Now, if you would remain standing,
you're going to be joined by the grandparents, great grandparents
and grandchildren of the graduates, would you join them
in standing?
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Now we're going to add the brothers and
sisters, spouses, partners, sons, daughters.
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: And lastly, the group I'm so fond
of, the aunts and uncles and other friends, everybody stand.
Graduates, thank them.
>>APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Everyone may be seated.
Before the most important part of the ceremony begins, I have
an announcement concerning the order of the procession.
So that you may find your particular graduate in the
procession, graduates will come forward alphabetically within
their college.
If you would please, please limit your applause and shouts
for your graduate out of respect to the graduate immediately
following yours, so we can be sure all parents can hear the
names.
Interim Provost DiLisio will now join me for the conferring of
the degrees.
Assisting us in awarding the degrees will be Ms. Susan
Picinich, Dean of the College of Fine Arts in Communication,
Dr. Terry Cooney, Dean of the College of the Liberal Arts,
Dr. David Vanko, Dean of the Fisher College of Science and
Mathematics, Dr. Janet DeLany, Dean of the Graduate Studies.

>>Dr. DiLisio: Will the candidates for the Doctoral
degree please stand and proceed to the stage.
I ask Professor Dr.Yuanqiong ***, Dr. Alexander Wijesinha,

escort the candidates to the stage.
Madam President, on a recommendation of the faculty, I
have the honor to present these candidates who meet all
requirements for the degree of Doctor of Science in
Information Technology.
>>President Loeschke: The doctorate is the pinnacle of the
academic journey.
And you all have the opportunity to watch these individuals
receive their doctorates and be called Doctor for the
first time.
A Doctoral degree demonstrates a special effort to develop your
academic talents and strengthen your skills in research and
clinical practice.
It is now your responsibility to apply these capabilities in the
service of humanity.
The escorting of the candidate by the Dean of the college and
their advisor or chair symbolizes the support provided
throughout the educational process, but once hooded, the
candidate is referred to as Doctor, forevermore, and walks
across the stage alone symbolizing the achievement of
academic excellence.
And now by the authority vested in me, by the University System
of Maryland's Board of Regents, and the state of Maryland, I
confer upon you the degree of Doctor of Science, with all of
the responsibilities, honors, rights, and privileges
thereunto pertaining.
Congratulations.

Madam President, this concludes all the graduates from the
Fisher College of Science and Math and all the graduates from
this ceremony.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Lights up, please.
Graduates, I ask that sometime this weekend, amidst all of the
celebration; that you sit quietly for just a few minutes
and reflect and ask yourselves how you want this world to be
bettered because you now have this education.
How are you going to use this education to make positive
change in your professions, your families, your communities, the
state, the country, and indeed the world.
The world is a very uncertain place, and your leadership and
passion, your vision and your commitment in the arts and
sciences and in the liberal arts are very important to the health
and welfare of us all.
As an alum, just like you, and as your president, I send you
forward with great pride and respect and gratitude and love.
Thank you for everything you have given to Towson.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: All right, all graduates stand up, all
bachelors. As the symbol of your new status, you may now move
your mortarboard tassel from the right to the left.
>>: APPLAUSE
>>President Loeschke: Now everyone remain standing and
please stand to join Ms. Elson in singing "Maryland, My
Maryland." You'll find the words on page 37.
>>: MARYLAND, MY MARYLAND (performed by Ms. Amelia Elson.)
>>: APPLAUSE
>>Dr. Fisher: Doctor Loeschke, her party, the faculty and
graduates will begin the recessional.
I would ask that members of the audience remain seated until all
have left the arena.
The guests may then join their graduates outside on the patio.
Again, we offer our best wishes and congratulations to the
Class of 2012.
