Our next guest is an Emmy Award winning actor
who just got whacked on the Sopranos
Please say hello to Michael Imperioli, ladies and gentelmen
Well here we go, this is what everyone is talking about now and you obviously must have known about this for quite some time
I knew about it for a year
Was it a problem somehow that it would slip out somehow?
Were you nervous about keeping that secret?
I wasn't nervous, I mean we got used to..that became part of the job
to keep the secrets of the show, because people wanted to know everything, but eh...
What was the reaction from family and friends?
It's been very strange, believe it or not flowers have been delivered to my house
People have been calling to see if I'm ok!
(laughter) to see if your ok?!?!
I'm saying, it's a tv show of course I'm ok! It's like every other day
but.. please you could stop sending flowers. In lew of flowers you can donate some money to your favourite charity
Oh, that's very, very nice
(applause from the audience)
Now that you're done, one would assume you could probably tell us how the series end, what is the conclusion?
There's three episodes left?
Three more...I..I.. can't..
Something must happen?
Something's happened, but I'm not allowed..
Allright, ah...when you were a younger kid thing about a career in acting..
what kind of actors..who did you admire?
Oh, I loved Al Pacino a lot and Dog Day Afternoon was one of my favourites, and then...
Midnight Cowboy was..actually wound up becoming a Christmas tradition among my brother and my father
Every Christmas Eve after the presents we would watch Midnight Cowboy and eh....
which always seemed kind of normal to me, I don't know why..
Oh really??
I worked with Jon Voight on a movie a couple of years ago and I told him that.
And he said wow that is really touchy, it's really sweet, it's very sick!
(laughter)
Doesn't have the holiday feel that one might expect.
I don't know it kind of marked me for life that movie
And you just had trip..were you working in Iceland?
I just did a film in Iceland, yeah
Iceland I know little about ,except that it never gets dark
This time of year, in the summertime, it gets dark around 12 but it only gets like dusk
It's a very interesting place, it's very, very clean, the people are very, very sweet, very polite
there is very little crime..but on the weekends they go drinking. It goes all night long
Untill 8 in the morning you'll hear fights, bottles breaking but when you get up in the next morning
You can't.. there is no dirt, there is no bottles, it's like elfs come and sweep it and everyones nice again!
It's amazing
Ahum, now I just want to go back to this because really there is nothing in it for you to keep the secret of the finale
(laughter)
If you think about it honestly, you've had your fun with the show..it's been good to you, you've been good to them so what's the problem?
I actually could now that I think of it, we also kept the secrets because under threat..
but probably..you guys want to hear...?
There is 3 episodes left...
I'm going to give you..allright I'm not going to tell when and where but it's right near the end
this is what happens...I'm gonna do this.. ahem...
Tony Soprano wakes up, Carmela is sleeping next to him, goes downstairs, gets some coffee...
(laughter as the standy signal interrupts Michael's speech)
I'm going to need this!
Blood everywhere! the police show up..there's blood everywhere the police come they arrest everybody...
blackout!
(applause and laughter)
That's remarkable
I'll never work again on HBO
So a very happy part of your life has come to a conclusion, a sad conclusion but I'm sure it's something you're going to miss huh?
I'm going to miss it, we've had a really good time, made a lot of good friends. You know it is like a family.
10 years?!?
We did the pilot in 1997
That's remarkable
A very long time
Congratulations on a good job, good to see you
Thanks for having me
