I think the motivation for me to go out on my own was always a burning
desire that I had to be my own boss.
I wanted the autonomy. I always wanted control over my life and my career.
When I went to talk to firms, all the firms said "What are you gonna do for me? What are you gonna do for me?" and I was like.."Well,
what are you going to do for me?" Right?! The first thing is very scary.
I realized that I needed, like, secretaries. I needed people to answer phone calls for me.
The thought of opening up my own office and having to do everything on my own
was an overwhelming task.
Opening an office is expensive.
And if you're going to do it right, it takes the right people. We lease out individually
staffed and furnished offices. You walk in, sit down and start working.
We take care of all the rest of it.
The professionalism of the staff is amazing.
They're exceptionally accommodating, professional, very friendly.
But even more than friendly is they're effective
and they are responsive to our needs.
I love that I am only paying
for things that are actually going to bring value to my practice. It's very cost effective. Everything is literally
right there at your fingertips.
AEC has been vital to my growth as a solo practitioner.
Without all the assistance and help that they've provided me,
I don't believe I would be as profitable as I am today.
Let's face it, we go to school for 20 years to become lawyers,
you might as well enjoy what you're doing. I don't think I could ever work for anybody else again. The best decision I've ever made.
I wouldn't change it for the world.
