- Gloomy day in Phoenix, that's a rarity.
Good morning, Passport Holders.
Today is December 11th, 2015, day 406 of the vlogs
and it's a gloomy day in Phoenix,
just like you guys saw.
Kind of a rarity around here so
at this point though, it is just 8:30.
I am heading over to the office in order to
finish working super *** all this stuff
that I've been doing that I can't really talk about.
And then present it to some folks
in the company today as well.
So hopefully it'll be a good closure to this first week
of being in the office and hopefully there's
positive news that comes out of it.
I mean, it really depends on what
kind of response I get that will define
how amped I am about what we're going to
be able to do over the next few months.
I really want to hang big woods on the board,
that's a big thing.
I love winning more than I dislike some of
the pieces in the process and yeah,
I just want to get that positive result so
all that said, hope you guys are having a
great, great Friday, Saturday as you're watching this
if you're watching it on release day.
Let's go get this one started.
And just that quickly, guys, it's already lunch time.
I was able to finish all of the work
that I wanted to so I'm gonna be clear to present
any time this afternoon, but I am taking my lunch
just a little bit early in order to make sure that
when I send the deck out at 1:00,
I'm at my desk and I'm not gonna leave until
I leave for the day.
So, I'm happy with where everything ended up.
The only thing that didn't get done that I
wanted to get done was kind of an in-depth
explanation and recap of everything that's in the deck
in a standard written format.
That had to get cut though because of the data
corruption issue, I mean, I lost half a day
which is about what it would end up taking me.
But given the schedule this afternoon,
I don't think I'm gonna get that time
but I'll do it at some point.
I will do it within the next week or so.
It's not mission critical, it's nice to have
as a document that will show how I
did all this and what it all means and why
I'm making the recommendations that I am.
But, one of the things that I forgot this morning
was my water bottle, and so at this point,
I don't have any reason why not so I'm gonna
go and get it from the house and then
just have lunch there, although, once again,
I'm not hungry.
I'll force myself to eat something though.
So, yeah.
Lunch hour done, water bottle grabbed,
time to go back to the office.
It's shift, it's off, it's done.
I sat around for about a half hour
talking with a couple of the co-workers.
Not about the findings but just kind of generally
getting to know them, right?
It's still my first week.
I haven't really been super talkative because I've been
doing a bunch of data crunching so trying to
make them feel like I'm less than
just a hole of empty sound inside of the cubicle farm.
So, yeah, at this point though, it's time for me
to get my afternoon walk and not be sitting
for four straight hours, four or five straight hours.
Not a fan of that.
So, get feedback when I get feedback.
I'll get pulled aside in order to actually do it.
I don't know, but it is what it is and
yeah, I'm pretty happy with the result of all that work.
Should be a good kind of exclamation point
on the end of my first week.
Well, I got let out of school early.
Ends up that my stuff got done pretty early.
A couple other people in the marketing department
got done as well and so those of us
who were finished were free to go
which I was pretty pumped about so
I'm actually gonna head over and
just go home actually.
I don't think I'm gonna do anything.
A bunch of them were going to happy hour
and I made the decision that I didn't want to go
specifically because it wasn't gonna be a
large enough contingent of the marketing department.
It was just gonna be like a handful of people,
and if I wanna make that happen and I'm gonna break
the diet and everything else, I want it to be
worthwhile where a lot of people are
gonna be there, which, I think is very likely
going to be the holiday party
next Friday so I'll do that then
but at this point, I'm not entirely sure
what I want to do with the rest of the day.
There's part of me that really just wants to
take the rest of the night off,
play some Destiny, finish "The Thank You Economy,"
drink a couple beers because yeah,
I haven't even had anything to drink all week
which, it happens but given the stress level
of this week, I'm actually really proud of myself
that I didn't need that.
So, yeah, maybe I'll pick up
some beer on the way home.
All right guys, so I've been sitting here playing with
the computer in the configuration that
most often causes the lagginess
and all that good fun,
and it's not an issue, which is actually pretty cool.
The fans are running, which I kind of
have come to expect when I'm doing
any kind of graphics, intense kind of stuff,
including having the second monitor connected
and playing You Tube videos, that full screen, right?
That's a lot of pixels that it has to push in addition
to the retina screen as well so
I'm not sure whether or not I'm gonna go in
for the Genius appointment that
I have tomorrow at 11 AM.
But, you know, it is what it is.
At this point, I'm just gonna enjoy a beer
'cause I did pick some up on the way home.
And I think I'm actually gonna play Destiny
for an hour until the season finale
of the Amazing Race and Shark Tank,
and that's gonna be my Friday night.
I know, so interesting, but given how hard
I've worked this week, I feel like a down evening
is the right play and as importantly, me getting
a lot of sleep is the right play.
Hope you guys are having a good Friday night
where ever and whatever you're doing.
Thank you guys for your time and attention.
As always, it means so much to me.
I said a long long time ago,
actually I think it was episode zero that this was
an opportunity for me to
record my own growth for me.
I never expected that 419 of you now
would come along on this ride, right?
Almost 25,000 views at this point.
Would come along for this ride and so
I legitimately mean it when I say, "Thank you."
Thank you, thank you.
But remember, you never stumble upon
opportunity by standing still,
so go do cool stuff.
Bye for now.
