Hey guys, Jason here and we're here today in Myeongdong, Seoul
A popular shopping place known for... what else, people spending their
money to get the coolest stuff. Now today, our topic will be
"Exploring a K-pop store." What is it like in there,
what is inside the mystical place, and what could you buy there.
And if we're lucky, I think we can talk to people there too.
Without further ado, let's go!
So we're outside Music Korea, a K-pop store here in Myeongdong
and next to me in Infinite, one of the hottest K-pop bands right now.
Near the entrance of K-pop stores, there are displays of popular idol groups
like Infinite or Teen Top Visitors usually take pictures
of the posters, or better yet, take pictures with them.
These pictures are usually rotated on a weekly basis to reflect the music charts.
We're going to buy some CDs right now, so let's go.
You can find a huge selection of CDs, such as Superstar K group, Busker Busker.
"Gangnam Style" sensation, PSY.
And lastly, the [whisper] JYP mogul himself, Jin-young Park.
Besides checking out music, you can pose like your favorite stars, such as 2NE1.
Get your groove on with whichever song they're currently playing.
Or get your aegyo on with IU.
As you can see, there's a variety of ways you can amuse yourself in a K-pop store.
Just take a look at all the CDs in the store.
So, speaking of which, how much do CDs cost?
Well... they usually range anywhere from 10 to 20 USD,
With the latest releases being 20.
So we're here at the So Nyuh *** Dae (SNSD) corner, and here on this display
is their newest CD, "I Got a Boy."
Now usually, if you buy a CD here or any K-pop store, you can get a free poster.
It's pretty cool huh? So, who's your favorite So Nyuh *** Dae (SNSD) member?
Well, I'm sure you have your favorite. Mine has to be Jessica.
We move onto K-Story, a K-pop store that has its own cafe.
Fans can sip on coffee or tea, while also checking out their favorite CDs.
A certain K-pop idol's shrine is also found here.
Going into a K-pop store can evoke many feelings.
You can unleash your inner Beast
Learn about the oldest theories of Big ***
Or experience what it's like to be 2NE1
and Rock Ur Body.
All this talk of K-pop idols is making me thirsty. Good thing there's a cafe here.
Ever wondered how a Super Junior, a So Nyuh *** Dae (SNSD), a SHINee, or a TVXQ tastes?
Well now you can. I have to say the Super Junior is quite sweet.
So we arrived at the Shrine of Heechul.
And archeologists say there are currently seven wonders of the world.
With the Shrine of Heechul, it's eight now.
So what's inside the Shrine of Heechul? Well, for starters, there's memorablia,
there's money, and there's even praise of the Super Junior star.
So, with that being said, let's check it out!
Wow guys, there's so much money here! Vietnam, the Philippines, Singapore,
Saudi Arabia, Mexico. And it's time to put the US dollar in here guys.
Time to put George Washington to land next to this... Saudi Arabia, I think [pause], currency.
As you can see, pictures, posters, notes, and flags are just some of the memorablia
dedicated to Heechul. But his shrine also shows that K-pop fans hail from all over the world.
Fans often fly into Seoul to shop at K-pop stores and attend concerts.
Perhaps you can find your own, favorite idol's shrine when you visit Seoul.
So that's K-pop stores in a nutshell. If you're ever in Korea, check it out guys.
