Drapery panels are one of the most beautiful touches you can add to your overall décor.
Drapery panels create the illusion of a larger window opening and a finished touch to your
windows. Tuscany drapery panels are easy to install, in this short video you will see
just how simple it is. Determine where your draperies will hang by
aligning a steel measuring tape vertically in the center of your window. Lower the tape
down to a point where you would like the bottom of your drapery fabric to rest, and then extend
your tape above the center of your window to the full length of your panel and mark
lightly with a pencil. From this mark, measure out to each side a distance equal to half
of your rod length. Subtract 6” and place a small mark at the top of your tape. If you
are installing with wood hardware, begin by loosening the screws on the back of each of
the wood brackets and remove the attached bracket holders. Align the bottom of the center
opening in the bracket holder over the top of your pencil mark and then make two guide
marks through the top and bottom openings with a pencil.
If you are using metal hardware, align the top of your bracket opening over your pencil
mark, and make two guide marks with a pencil. Plastic wall anchors are included for attaching
your mounting hardware. Drill a hole on each mark to insert your anchor screws and then
press or tap your anchor screws to the wall. If you are using wood brackets, attach the
bracket holders to both sides of your window with the included hardware. To mount your
brackets to the wall, reattach them to their mounting hardware by sliding the screws and
the brackets down onto the slats. For installation of metal brackets secure each bracket to the
wall with two mounting screws. Count the number of hooks on the back of your drapery panels
and then begin assembling your valance by lightly turning the screw at the end of your
first finial clockwise into the end of the wood pole. Turn your pole over and slide the
number of rings onto the pole equal to the total amount of hooks on your panels. Attach
the second finial to secure your rings. If you are using metal hardware, place your finial
at the end of the rod. Secure your finial to the rod by turning your adjustment screw
clockwise. For metal rings, attach the included plastic hooks before sliding your rings onto
the rod. Finish by securing the second finial to your rod. Carefully place your pole on
to your brackets and lift up the left edge or the pole to position the last ring on the
left between the final and mounting bracket; then repeat on the right. Insert the hook
at the end of your left panel onto the ring between the final and bracket and continue
until all hooks on the drapery panel are attached. Finish by attaching the right side panel.
Drapery panels are available with a layer of fabric sewn to the back called a lining.
A highly recommended option, linings protect the drapery fabric from sun damage and heat
while improving the draping qualities of your panel. Complete your installation by adjusting
the folds to a pleasing arrangement. And that’s it, if you still have any questions about
