Superhero Training Academy - Every kid has a superhero inside themselves!
Noah was a shy and reserved 4-year-old when his teacher recommended that he join the Y’s Superhero Training Academy to gain confidence and to learn about the Y’s four core values. Now Noah is armed with the super powers of caring, honesty, respect and responsibility, and he is ready to take on the world (but first kindergarten)! This is his Y. His camera. His story. Hi, folks. It's super hero time.
I am a single mom of four kids: Hailey, 14; Colby, 9; Noah, 4; and Alley, who is 18 months old.
What is your favorite superhero? Spiderman. Spiderman?
The Superhero Training has given Noah something to look forward
to. As a four-year-old, they don't look forward to many goals yet, but he is very
excited to be a star and to make this video for you.
If you care for somebody, does that mean that you help them?
Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Does that mean that we make sure that if somebody falls, we help them up?
Yeah. Yeah! Alright!
I found out about the Super Hero Training Academy through Noah's school. His school did a superhero theme week, and the
YMCA notified Noah's school. The teachers are very interested in the program because
of the four core values that they teach. Superheroes, nice and loud, caring, honesty, respect, and responsibility!
Noah initially started off the school year as a pretty reserved and shy student, and one of the things that I immediatley noticed
through the superhero training was that Noah became far more confident in his

And he also embraced the concept of the four core values and he also was
able to elaborate on them in his own life, which is really the most important
fundamental aspect of learning. Alright, everyone point to your nose and say honesty. Honesty.

Good job everybody. I think the Superhero Training Academy is important to the
community because it teaches the four core values about the endless
possibilities of joining the YMCA and the fact that the YMCA is a very supportive
atmosphere for children across the world.
The Superhero Training also teaches children to set a goal and to reach for the stars.
