Hello and welcome to Todd's kitchen. This is certainly one of my most
favourite pudding recipes around, it is very simple yet it tastes delicious
So join me today as i make my version of rice pudding.
To start of with I have a pot on the stove and this is on a medium to
high heat,
So that that pour in our milk as always the ingredients are in the description.
Then our salt to enhance the flavour, and then our rice
what we are going to do it continue to stir this.
Just until it comes up to a boil.
As you can see it has just started to come to a boil now so what we are going to do it turn it down to a
medium to low heat
and we are going to let it simmer away for twenty minutes. Now during that twenty minutes
just give it a good stir every two minutes, just to make sure
nothing sticks to the bottom. Okay so it's been 20 minutes.
As you can see the rice has soaked up that milk nicely
and the rice is nice and tender. So what we are going to do now is
add in some vanilla extract and then a cup of sugar.
Then turn this up to a medium high then continuously stir this
for another two minutes just until its all nice and thick.
Then after two minutes once its thickened up it'll be ready to serve up.
Now as one final step for that extra added bit of flavour
sprinkle on some ground nutmeg.
And thats it and we now have an incredibly delicious rice pudding
This is fantastic on a hot or cold day as it can be served hot or cold
itself
but especially on a cold day served warm. You going to love it
but let's give it a try, that is so good.
You can still see the steam coming off. That is perfect. It
really is. That rice has been cooked
just right it is such a creamy texture
and that rice is really nice and soft and sweet
And this dish topped of with that nutmeg tastes simply delicious.
So if you want to have it as a dessert or a stand alone on a
cold day
then this is exactly what you want. Thank you for watching this episode of Todd's kitchen.
