Let us then move on, please, to item eight, which is the finance report. I am going to
ask Paul Baumann to introduce the paper. Paul Baumann: I am sure the Board will be
very sorry to note this is my last financial report on the Commissioning Board Authority,
but there will be further ones on the commissioning boards to whom we have now handed over the
money for the rest of the year. For those of you who are worried about that, there is
nothing more exciting that I reported last time on finance: we are still in the foothills
of the year in financial terms, so I would suggest, in the interests of time, that unless
there are any questions, I reserve further comment to the next meeting.
Naguib Kheraj: I just have one question, for information’s sake: the data is only to
September and we are in the middle of December, so when would we see the October figures?
Paul Baumann: This is a little bit to do with the cycle of the way the Board papers are
prepared and the lead times for it. They come through every month and they are available
about the third week of the month thereafter. This is just rounding off the Commissioning
Board Authority. We will obviously have a flow of papers which reflect that timeframe,
but you need to remember that the papers we produce take about two and a half weeks or
thereabouts to get through the preparation and publication, and all that sort of stuff.
That is the delay we have around it. Malcolm Grant: Thank you very much, Paul.
