The Hunger Games' early domination, FOX shelves I Hate My Teenage Daughter, and could The
Office be over once and for all? I'm Alex and I've got the scoop in today's Reel TV
News. Hunger Games hits theaters at midnight tonight,
but the film is already breaking box office records. As of Wednesday, it already raked
in over 15 million in presale tickets, according to The Hollywood Reporter, and it also cracked
the top 5 biggest preselling movies of all time on Fandango, beating out Harry Potter
& the Deathly Hallows Part 1 and The Twilight Saga: Eclipse for the #4 spot. Will you be
at one of the 3,500 sold-out midnight shows? Bad news for fans of new FOX series I Hate
My Teenage Daughter. The network has decidedly to pull the show from its Tuesday night comedy
block immediately, replacing it with repeats of Raising Hope for time-being. No official
word on whether it will be canceled just yet - optimists can hope for a summer return,
but I wouldn't count on it. So far, The Office has survived the departure
of Michael Scott, but more recent cast exits could mean the end for the NBC show. Executive
Producer and castmate Paul Lieberstein will officially be leaving the show, likely with
Rainn Wilson, to focus on the Dwight Schrute spin-off, while Mindy Kaling has her own FOX
pilot in the works with Ed Helms co-starring. Would you still watch season 9 with so many
stars missing, or should NBC kill it once and for all? Sound off in the comments and
check back tomorrow for more TV scoop from SIdeReel.
