jock sure rock has been convicted now this is a huge story in france i think it's a big story throughout the world actually because this guy seemed absolutely untouchable of course he was the president of france from ninety five to two thousand seven he was that mayor of paris very powerful mare for it long period of time so he's been in uh... power from nineteen seventy seven to nineteen ninety five as mayor of paris uh... and it's seen previously unimaginable that you could hold me josh rock accountable in france but they have now he's not gonna go uh... to jail but he does get it to your suspenders senses sentence that goes on this criminal record uh... and that is a heavy blow his reputation out what had he been doing well he'd be taking investment public funds to be legally finances conservatory throughout those years uh... it was a two part case and uh... they got a for a long standing and reiterated practices of the legal party financing they were nineteen totally or partially pink jobs that were present created to benefit sure often his party and the fact the french system here worked to convict them is great news and act long-time critics of course are ecstatic that there was at least some sort of of punishment at least on the record of for josh a rock uh... and because he'd been breaking the rules all inferences about always fascinating the prosecutors their main job isn't to get the conviction there so it's a present the evidence right so at the end of the trial the prosecutors actually turn around said uh... we actually think that he should be acquitted act as we did not provide enough evidence of intentional corruption can you imagine a u_s_ prosecutor intense zero right well i was in someone really powerful so but you know what the court said no not binding he's guilty two years look at that eligible somebody's justice system is still working so god bless the french on that one top concerns in america group frazer with act up
