Is your cat purring for a new bed? Build your cat its very own Replacement-Table-Legs.com
DIY briefcase cat bed by following our step-by-step instructions. Let's begin.
First things first, you need a briefcase. If you don't have an old one lying around
the house, try doing what we did, and go thrifting for one.
Furniture legs will give your cat bed a fashionable lifting. For this project, we're using the
four inch Sedona Style #4 furniture legs.
These furniture legs are sold separately in singles. They are made out of stainless steel
and have a stunning aluminum finish. Each leg is packaged with its very own mounting
plate, and a felt pad on the base of the foot to protect your flooring.
You will also need to purchase sixteen, one half inch washers, lock washers, quarter inch
by half inch twenty thread count round combo machine screws, and nuts. The tools you will
need include a drill, a marker, a ruler, and a wrench.
Grab your briefcase, a leg mounting plate and your ruler. Turn the briefcase upside
down exposing the base. To determine the placement of the legs and their mounting plate, measure
one inch in from both sides of the corner of the briefcase.
Use your marker to draw dots in the holes of the mounting plate to mark drill holes.
Repeat this process for the other three corners of your briefcase.
Begin drilling the holes for your round combo machine screws.
Once you have finished drilling the holes for your screws, turn your briefcase right
side up, and place a washer over one of the drill holes.
Place a lock washer on top of the washer.
Then place the round combo machine screw through the hole, until it is exposed on the base.
When you have all four machine screws exposed on the base, place your mounting bracket on
the exposed screw ends.
Apply a nut to each screw end to secure the mounting plate. Then tighten each nut with
your wrench.
Repeat this process for the other three corners of the briefcase.
Attach the legs by screwing them onto the mounting plate thread.
Flip your briefcase over, and measure the length and width of the inside. This will
determine what size pillow to use.
Once the pillow is in place, the job is done, and your cat now has a fashionable place to
