This video will demonstrate how to change your Dahsboard settings to tailor your learning
portfolio experience. To change your Learning Portfolio, click the Settings link is located
in the top right hand portion of the screen, next to a blue gearwheel. This will allow
you to adjust your to adjust your display options, item defaults, connect to your Learning
Portfolio through RSS updates, and connect to sharing settings.
Display options control how much information you share on the Learning Portfolio newsfeed.
You can increase the number of the default list size to twenty, or reduce it to five,
if you find there is too much information on this page. I'm going to leave it at ten.
You can also extend the oldest date and item will appear in your newsfeed. If you set this
to 365 days, it will hide artifacts older than a year. It does not remove them, it just
merely hides them. If you find yourself often overwriting the default settings, you can
change the item defaults here. Although, we suggest strongly against that. The best practice
is to leave them at the default state. Under Sharing Settings, you can choose to
deselect the e-mail invitation or keep it enabled. You can also set a default sharing
group. This is handy if you constantly share with five or six people of the same people
throughout your career here at McMaster. To select a Sharing Group, you click. And I have
a test one here. You can then choose what type of items will automatically be shared
with this group. I don't want to set up a default sharing group so I will return the
selection to Select a Sharing Group, and click Save.
