Here's how to play the G minor scale on the bass guitar. We can think about G minor like G major, and lower the 3rd note, the 6th note, and the 7th notes of the scale, but a lot of that's just too much information when we're just trying to play music. It can be a lot easier to think about our B-flat major scale, starting on the 6th note, G. So, let's review our B flat major scale. We'll play B flat, starting on the first fret of the A string. C, on the 3rd fret, open D, E flat at the first fret, F on the 3rd fret, open G, A on the 2nd fret, and B flat on the 3rd fret of our G string. If we go back 2 notes, we get to our 6th note of the scale, G, and now, we can play the B flat major scale, starting on G, and we'll get our G minor scale. That's G, F, E flat, D, C, B flat, A, and our low G. This is what the G minor scale sounds like on the bass guitar.
