It looks like the Gaeseong Industrial Complex has not been affected by the news of Jang
Song-thaek's execution. A 30-member G20 delegation is scheduled to
visit the joint factory zone next week. The Unification Ministry said Friday that
around 30 officials from international financial organizations like the Group of 20 will cross
the border to the North on Thursday afternoon, where they will receive a briefing on the
joint business park and tour the factories and facilities there.
The officials will be in South Korea for a two-day visit for the G20 Seoul conference.
The Unification Ministry said the upcoming visit aims to broaden the officials' understanding,
which could help bring foreign investment to the Gaeseong complex and ultimately contribute
to its globalization.
