Hi everyone, this is Flo from Futilitiesandmore.com
Today, this is the first time I speak in French and I hope you will like it!
For those who don't speak English, and for those who don't speak French I will put some subtitles so that it will be easier for all!
But it won't be too complicate to understand even without it.
For those who follow me on Facebook or twitter, you know that I going to move to Canada, in Montréal next week.
So I will try to adapt the new viewers and sometimes, this will be easier for me to talk.
But no worries I will still talk in English for some videos.
But today, I will talk in English because it can be tricky to only speak English because I go in details in some description. So I will talk in French.
But no worries, I will continue to talk in English, especially for makeup tutorials and French for more complicated videos.
Today's video is my March hits and misses.
To start, I have a fabulous eyeshadow to show you. I love it so much!!
This is from Nars and a limited edition. I don't know how long this will last, but I love this color!
The packaging is small but the content is still generous.
Lhasa, which is a pretty lavender silver color. So beautiful! Elegant and so subtle.
The finish is satin and shimmery. I will so you some swatches also.
It is versatile and goes for everyone. It goes for so many occasions, people, eye shapes too, skintype.
I have one other eye product I have been using all the time this month.
This is from L'Oréal. Infallible eyeliner, the same line as the beautiful and pigmented eyeshadows.
I picked up a brown shade this time because I find it more natural for spring and summer.
I prefer to wear less intense shades during these seasons.
It is easy to use and it works well for a drugstore product.
This one is very smooth to apply, blendable and easy to smudge but it doesn't smudge throughout the day. It stays well.
It is pigmented too and easy to keep in shape and safe.
It doesn't smudge !
The last eye product is from Kevyn Aucoin, this is the Perfection Eye definer in the sade Dazzle. This is a gel eyeliner.
I found it so disappointing! The packaging is cheap.
It's a plastic jar, this will dry out the product. I really prefer glass containers.
Even drugstore products have a better look! By example, Mac is so much more better!
It is such a huge let down because the color is so gorgeous but the product itself is pretty bad.
I love this shimmery royal blue shade...
But it smudges and creases like crazy!
So annoying knowing that the product is super expensive!
$27 and it is less productive than a drugstore product.
I would never bought this if I haven't had a coupon code in my Myglam bag.
If you are interested, you can check out my blog and read my experience with this concept.
The is a touchy subject! Because it was bad :)
The coupon was pretty interesting, a very generous $25 the entire Dermstore site but in fact you were forced to purchase for at least $50.
I had many coupons in my Myglam bag, it is only interesting if you want to waste your money. The idea of a coupon is great.
But those coupons are included in the 4 to 5 goodies and in in reality the bag becomes extremely expensive for the value.
And because the content is so bag, you are frustrated and you "have to" buy other things!
It is a pity because the shade is so beautiful.
I think I am still going to use it but probably not as an eyeliner on my top eyelid.
Then, still on Myglam subject, after I spent $50, I bought this Butter nail polish with the coupon code.
I find the color and the quality beautiful.
This is Primrose Hill Picnic. This is a nice fuchsia color, perfect for this season.
But God!! This is so expensive! I find it ridiculous! $14...
For half the price at Essie or Zoya, you can find product which have a similar quality or even better.
I particularly love Zoya nail polishes :) Because it is creamy, opaque and long lasting.
I have a dupe for this Butter london nail polish which is only at $2 or $3 from Sally Hansen: Fuchsia power which is gorgeous.
I add a top coat on top and it works as good!
I find it incredible to buy products this expensive. I would prefer to keep my money to buy something more interesting...
Of course the quality is good (thank God!) but this is not the best nail polish I have ever found!
Next, I have some face products I loved this month!! So excited!
Mac Mineralize Skinfinish Natural from Mac. I used it every single day.
I am in light + and I am also NC 25 in Mac foundation
I love the matte finish, it is very velvety.
The pigmentation is also fantastic and it does control excess oil of the T zone.
It works on my oily areas and I love it! Beautiful Matte finish. And so natural.
I highly recommend this one!
I tried a new foundation, this is from Tarte, Amazonian clay full coverage foundation in light medium.
I have mixed feelings about it.
It is supposed to be full coverage, long lasting, waterproof, oil control and has SPF 15.
It is supposed to be made for oily skin too.
SPF 15, which is not too high, but just enough to protect your skin against the Sun.
I've tried it this month and I am not sold. I love the texture, so creamy and easy to apply but I don't think it is a full coverage foundation.
As you can see I have freckles and scares and it doesn't cover everything.
With the lighting it looks nice (I hope!), but in reality, we can definitely see my imperfections.
I would say that the product is more a medium coverage.
The finish is matte, so I like it because it I love this kind of finish and you don't need to apply a loose powder on top.
But I still do because the oil control is not so good.
After few hours, I need so touch ups, because my nose is greasy. And the product transfers a little bit.
It can also transfers on your clothes or on your hands.
But overall, I find it more adapted for normal skin to combination but not for oily skin.
And one other bad thing about it, it creases! I have such an oily T zone!
But if you avoid this area, it's ok!
I like to apply this foundation with my fingers rather than with a foundation brush. Because it is so creamy that the brush absorbs to much product.
It melts onto your fingers and your skin like a primer.
I am in love with the texture. It is so smooth like a primer.
The color is the perfect match for me. Light medium
As I told you, the coverage is medium and not full. I know better products for that.
As I told you, the coverage is medium and not full. I know better products for that.
As I told you, the coverage is medium and not full. I know better products for that.
But this texture, it is incredibly smooth and buttery, I LOVE that!
Moving onto blushes, I have some other Tarte products.
I already talked about one of this blush in one of my video, my best of beauty of 2011.
This is Tarte Amazonian Clay 12 hours in Blissful and I love it!
Blissful is a peachy pink color, very pigmented and fresh.
But so pigmented that you only need one dab to make your 2 cheeks!
You don't want to look like a clown, so it is something which is good to know!
It is really a long lasting blush, they don't lie!
Because this one made a huge sensation, I bought 3 new ones :)
It was an interesting deal because I used a 30% coupon code! If you want more infos, click on the link below!)
I am wearing Dollface today. This is a cute barbie pink shade. A blue baby pink.
Fresh color, and so cute!
It is a barbie pink
After that I have Exposed, more a brownish tone.
Perfect for shy people and this is the most neutral shade of the collection.
Versatile and you're sure to match any outfits.
One thing I like is the fact that you can easily depot the product thank to this little hole. and the packaging is also magnetic.
Very handy for a Z palette.
The last blush is Tipsy, this is a coral orange blush that I love, it will be perfect for spring and summer.
It is such a huge trend!
I have lots of tutorial to make with this coral trend that I love.
Those are some swatches.
So, it was all my favorite makeup products!
To finish, I have one last product and this is something that I didn't like too much.
This is a dry shampoo from Tresemmé. And I don't know if you can find that in France...
This is Fresh start.
I am not sure to like it. I find the smell too strong, very fruity like a real lemon pressed on your hair!
The scent stays on, it doesn't fade away :(
I don't like the finish neither that I find to powdery. It let on your hair a white residue. Dirty feeling.
And if you have oily hair, it doesn't absorb the excess very well.
So now it is finished for my March hits and misses
I hope this will be useful!
If you have some recommandations, let's share, I love that!! So don't hesitate, it is so cool to discover new things!
Most of the products shown in this video have already a review on my blog and for those who still don't have, this will be updated as soon as possible.
My blog is only in English right now but I will probably write in French sometimes.
So ok, I hope you enjoyed to hear a little bit of French, this was my first try!
See you next time!
