Check out this video: ****** WARNING: Before starting any repair on your appliance, always make sure that it is completely disconnected from its power source by unplugging it. Parts Needed to Diagnose Your Dryer: -Phillips Head Screwdriver -2 Puddy Knives In This Video: To start the diagnostic process you will need to run your dryer for a short period of time to determine where the squeaking is coming from. The squeaking should be coming from one of three different places 1.)The back of the dryer 2.) The top of the dryer 3.) The bottom cabinet of the dryer. Once you have determined where the squeaking is coming from then you will be able to figure out what is causing the squeaking. The Back of the Dryer: Bearings- The bearings are located in the behind the back panel of the dryer. Overtime the bearings can become rusted and may need to be lubed or replaced. The Top of the Dryer: Dryer Belt-The dryer belt is located under the top panel of the dryer around the drum. Over time the dryer belt can fray or shift on the drum causing the unit to make noises. If you notice your dryer belt is damaged or has shifted on the drum you may need to replace your dryer belt. Shop Dryer Belts Here: ****** The Bottom of the Dryer: Dryer Seal- The dryer seal is held in place around the dryer by an adhesive. Overtime time the adhesive can get hot and melt causing the seal to start to come off the drum. When the seal comes off the drum it causes the dryer drum to rub against the side panel while it is in motion, this rubbing can cause your dryer to make loud noises. Shop Dryer Seals Here: ****** Idler Pulley-The idler pulley is located on the bottom of the dryer. Overtime the idler pulley can become worn out or melt because it is constantly moving the dryer belt around the drum. If the idler pulley partially melts due to the heat of the moving belt or becomes worn it can cause the dryer to make loud noises. The motor helps to rotate the dryer belt, sometimes the motor can become weakened over time if you have had your dryer model for a couple of years the motor may need to be replaced.
