'And for the sake of memorizing the book' 'We have knocked every door' 'We shall continue this right path, before things come to an end' We are getting into a unique experience in an Islamic country which never used to have a proper climate for its citizens to memorize the Qur'an in the past But when we reached there we found amazing examples and a rare determination to memorize the Qur'an These are the people and youth of The Green Tunisia A self-educated person, He worked hard with his father helping him to reach this beautiful level in memorization of the Book of Allah SWT - How are you Sheikh Muhammad? - Praise to Allah - By the will of Allah, Are you good? - Praise to Allah - When did you start memorizing the Qur'an, Sheikh Muhammad? - I started memorization at 6 - Ma'sha'Allah - When did you finish? - When I was 7 and half years old - So, you finished in almost one and half years - how did you do that? who helped you? - I memorized the Qur'an by listening to the radio - The recitation of Sheikh Abdul-Rahman Al-Huthayfi - Ma'sha'Allam - Also, my father helped me with the Tajweed and grammar - You used to listen and then revise with your father - Actually, my father taught me the Tajweed and grammar - How much do you memorize per day? - On school days, I memorize 2 pages - And on weekends and holidays, I memorize 3-4 pages - Once I did 6 pages - Ma'sha'Allah - How much do you revise daily? - One juzz or one and half juzzs on school days - While in holidays, I do up to 5 juzzs Let's focus on what he said, He memorizes 2 pages daily and revises 2 juzzs and he revises 5 juzzs on holidays Praise to the Entirely Merciful This how you should take care of the Qur'an, hufadh ' Recite and think of the meanings, in awe' ' Miss it till your tears flow down' ' It magically runs through all the veins' ' leaving behind it but abundant light' With the hectic school schedule and memorization of the Qur'an, in addition to daily revision of the Qur'an Sheikh Muhammad memorizes Hadeeth and others But he still have time to play soccer and performs all his hobbies as youth should do I ask Allah SWT to protect him - Sheikh Muhammad, All these things you do - Mutoon, Qira'at, Hadeeth, Fiqh and Aqeeda - Don't you feel that your time is crowded? - You are young, you would like to play, go out or - perform your hobbies -Do you still have time to do that? - Actually memorization of the Qur'an -does not prevent me from playing! - How? - Everything have its specific time ' Our Qur'an...is a clear light' ' for the worshipers over the centuries' 'It is a light upon light for us. It is our way to eternal happiness' ' It has the cure of the hearts' ' and its clear evidence is within its lines' ' It is our intercessor on the day of judgment.' I ask Allah SWT to make you enjoy the pleasure of having your children memorized the Book of Allah SWT Contemplation of the Qur'an, By the will of Allah Almighty in our show 'Traveler with the Qur'an 2' We will talk about an important topic, the Contemplation of the Qur'an, At the beginning, we need to understand this word Linguistically; it means looking onto the consequence of the thing But conventionally, which is more important, is looking on the words of Allah SWT with the intention of learning from the warnings and the lessons, getting enlightened, and drawing benefits from that speech When you open the Mushaf and read You find commandments from Allah to you in some verses So you submit to these commands So many people think that contemplation is difficult for commonalty They think that it is only for a certain category of people as scientists, interpreters and people of the Qur'an This is not true! My beloved brothers, contemplation is for all people and Muslims There is a great verse in Surat Sad Allah Swt loves us so much that he says I seek refuge in Allah from the cursed Shaytan " [This is] a blessed Book which" " We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad]," " that they might reflect upon its verses" " and that those of understanding would be reminded." When you read this verse and come across the words "reflect upon its verse", you should know that it is our duty to reflect upon the verses of the Qur'an We would neither feel the beauty of the Qur'an nor its pleasure, we would never get enlightened by the Qur'an or benefit from its lessons, if we didn't reflect upon its words Allah SWT concluded this great verse by saying " and that those of understanding would be reminded." Who are these "of understanding" they are people of bright minds, those of wisdom By the will of Allah, they are you Now, after knowing the meaning of contemplation It is time to go to the Qur'an and feel its beauty ' Oh my brother, the Dawn recitation of Qur'an is witnessed' ' And all the good is tied to its words' ' So be keen on it, don't spare any effort for that' ' For that any good you do, you'll get back' ' So be keen on it, don't spare any effort for that' Our guest in this show in a Tunisian young man he has a very beautiful voice Sheikh Elyas Ban-Noor His family is a known Qur'anic family in Tunisia I ask Allah SWT to protect him When he memorized the Qur'an, it was very difficult to do it in Tunisia - Sheikh Elyas, we would like to know, how did you start your journey? - with the Book of Allah Almighty? - How did you start loving it? - I am from a family known for memorization of the Qur'an - About 6 to 7 uncles and Cousins memorized the whole Qur'an -Ma'sha'Allah, Qur'anic family! -Praise is to Allah - When I was young I went to memorize the Qur'an in Qur'anic circles - which was specific for children - Then things changed politically in Tunisia - And so many things were forbidden, for security excuses - In 1990 or 1991 I was about 10 years old - What we were able to do, were not allowed any more - Even memorizing the Qur'an? - Actually all types of gatherings, particularly the religious - Yes - Being a child, I was afraid to go to the Masjid - Before that we used to spend all day in the masjid - So I stopped from 1991 to 2003 - Oh, that long! - Yes - Almost 12 years stopped memorizing the Qur'an - Even more - Because of the security situations or - you gave up memorization of the Qur'an? - No, The situation was not suitable at all - Let me tell you this joke! - My Sheikh was honorable Sheikh Muhammad Al-Atrash - when I used to call him for an appointment - We used to talk by Cyphers - Yes! - For example: Do we have a soccer match today? - Glory to Allah! - If he says; no, the playground is not ready - It means that I should not go to his place - Or the soccer team is not ready.... - So your memorization of the Qur'an is a secret task - Yes - Praise is to Allah, the awakening started at 2003 - among Muslim youth in Tunisia " We are most knowing of what they say," " and you are not over them a tyrant." " But remind by the Qur'an whoever fears My threat." - Sheikh, Did you finish memorization of the Qur'an at 25? - or did you start at 25? - I started between 21 to 22 - Ma'sha'Allah, praise to the Entirely Merciful - This is a message to the youth - This young man, finished university, in 2 majors - Now he is a university lecturer of law and political sciences - and he memorized the Qur'an - and he is still young - Glory to Allah, - Brother Fahad, this has nothing to do with age or anything else - it is only about sincerity - Allah said " And fear Allah . And Allah teaches you." - So when you open the Mushaf, you would wonder, - how I could memorize these difficult words; "and [those animals] killed by strangling or by a violent blow" " or by a head-long fall or by the goring of horns," " and those from which a wild animal has eaten," - How I could memorize that speech? - The thing is that you were sincere to Allah, - then Allah taught you! - And the one who goes to the Qur'an, the Qur'an goes to him - May Allah bless you Sheikh Elyas 'It is the peace for my heart' 'And my friend in times of distress' 'And it's the medicine for my sickness' 'And it is the light of my grave' Ayob, is a young man, he studies Engineering He memorized the Qur'an when he was at 17 When you are with him you feel his energy and enthusiasm in memorizing the Qur'an He memorized the Qur'an, because his family had set the right climate for him since he was a baby! - When did you start memorizing the Qur'an? - Before starting memorization of the Qur'an - There were things which encouraged me to choose that path - things made me decide to memorize this whole book - By the will of Allah - To start with; my mother, may Allah protect her, told me - that she used to read some verses from the Qur'an on me - before I go to bed, since I was a baby - We all know that this has an effect on the child for sure - It implants loving of the Qur'an in him - By the age of 15, I had automatically memorized 5-6 juzzs of the Qur'an - but not in order - Yes - I felt bad that I know that much, yet I can't - recite it and revise it properly - So I made up my mind to start formal memorization - surat A- Baqara till the end of the Qur'an - I started with my Sheikh, may Allah preserve him -Till I finished after 2 years - How much did you memorize daily? - I used to memorize between one to two pages - In 2 occasions I memorized 4 pages, half a Hizb, - Most of the time I did one page per day - Ma'sha'Allah, praise to the Entirely Merciful " O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day" I seek refuge in Allah from the cursed Shaytan In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful. " O mankind, fear your Lord and fear a Day" " when no father will avail his son," " nor will a son avail his father at all." " Indeed, the promise of Allah is truth," " so let not the worldly life delude you" " and be not deceived about Allah by the Deceiver." - Did memorization of the Qur'an divert you from your study? - or the contrary happened? - Let me surprise you with this! - My best performance and marks during studying, - were during my memorization time - Glory to Allah! - Some people say that the Qur'an distracts their children - they don't focus on their study.... - No, no. this not true! - They only need proper time management - and organization.
