Okay, this is the five iron and we're going to work on drawing the ball. So now the five
iron might be a club that you're hitting a hundred and seventy, a hundred and sixty,
to two hundred yards, depending on your skill and size and development of the game. So you'll
be able to hit it a little longer when you draw it because the ball has side spin on
it. It almost is almost like a little bit of top spin. When you hit it, it's going to
roll a little further. So this club, this shot is very useful. So now that we're having
a lower lofted club, you're really going to be able to develop a lot more draw on it if
you want. So you have to learn how to control it because you don't want it to turn into
a hook. So I'm going to line up. This would be how I would hit the ball straight. I'm
going to use my line of flight and I line up parallel to that. And this would be how
I would hit the ball straight. But I'm going to aim a little bit to the right because I'm
going to draw the ball, it's going to go from right to left. So I aim to the right and I
close the club face. So I turn it like that. And this will produce side spin. And it allows you to fight the wind, it allows
you to go around obstacles and trees and anything else that's in your way. Or if you're on a
dog leg left, or the hole goes to the left, this is a natural way of tracking the terrain
that will keep you out of the rough.
