Hi guys, Melissa from CloudMom. Hope you're doing well today. Answering a question from
a YouTube viewer, April, how can I get my baby to sleep in a cot? Great question. I
think by "cot," you mean portable crib or a pack n play. And I actually have a video
about how to put together the pack n play, because it's something that took me years
to learn. So please check that out too, but the question is how do you get your baby to
comfortably sleep in this portable crib or pack n play and what can make it work? I use
the pack n play quite a bit. I used it at my mom's house. I would even bring it if I
was like visiting my sister or a friend for the day so that the baby could sleep in a
crib-like situation, rather than sleeping in the stroller. So I think this is a really
great question. Here's the way I went about it, and then you guys tell me what has worked
for you. What I did is really just treat it like another crib. So I would have a good
fitted sheet. I would make sure if I could the baby was in a quiet room or area. I would
bring, and now you're getting into like maniac territory but you guys already know I'm a
little bit of a maniac. I would bring black out shades. Yes I would! That were portable,
that I would stick up with blue tape or garbage bags, and I have a video about that too. I
know, completely insane. Some people believe in having their babies nap in the light, and
that's fine too, but I didn't do it. I would bring all those elements, and I would basically
remake my little nursery situation where I am. These things, in my experience, really
worked. And my babies generally went to sleep as easily in the pack n play as they did at
home when they were in their crib. So anyway, I'm going to link through to some of those
other videos from this one. I hope that's helpful. If you guys have other tricks and
ideas about how to get a baby to sleep comfortably in the pack n play or portable crib, please
please weigh in. Love to hear what you guys think, and thank you so much for watching
CloudMom.
